Licensing: MAS upgrade of family bundle
Two questions:
I purchased the $99 Mac+Windows Family bundle of 3.x. I assume that if I purchase the $20 MAS version, I will also get a free windows upgrade to 4.x?
I purchased a family license. We have multiple Macs and multiple AppleIDs. As I understand it, 1P will now just be tied to a single AppleID. What do I do?
FWIW, I think it wasn't the best course of action for AB to charge for the 3.x->3.9 MAS version. I have read the posts and FAQ. While Im sure it costs AB money to move a user to MAS, it either should have been free (since it has always been stated that non major version upgrades are free), or AB could have waited for the 4.0 release to make the change. I think the approach of giving users the upgrade to 4.0 is helpful and mostly fair, but it is confusing and violates the free in version upgrades concept. Love the software - just some customer feedback...
Thanks!

Hi Jeff,
We much appreciate the feedback. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Windows is completely unaffected by this move, both from a licensing and technical perspective.
You can use a single Apple ID to install the application on multiple Macs (even ones that have had a different Apple ID used on them previously). The only time you will be prompted for the Apple ID that was used to make the purchase is when installing updates for the applications purchased under a different Apple ID.
I hope that clarifies.

The current App Store price and Windows upgrade price added together are equal to the bundle license upgrade price, so the cost is the same. That said, if you need further assistance with licensing (upgrading just the "Windows part" of your bundle license), just shoot one of us a PM in these forums or send us an email at support@agilebits.com. We're happy to help, and I'm sure we can find a solution that you are happy with. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />Flag 0
