How to get notified of support replies? [Answered]

I understand Agile is trying to be more efficient, but a public forum strikes me as a very poor option for technical and customer support. In the current setup, we're not even notified of replies. Instead, we have to check the forum manually periodically to see if anyone answered.

Even email notifications are unsatisfactory in this case, unless they distinguish official Agile replies from the "me too" ones.

I'm afraid my experience with 1Password thus far has been a very poor one, with the plethora of bugs in 3.9 and the impossibility of contacting Agile directly. (I don't even like posting comments like this and would have preferred to do so privately, but it's impossible.) I know 1Password will again be a 5-star app once the bugs have been fixed. I hope the company gets back on track soon.

    Hey aef110,

Our email address is support@agilebits.com. I'm afraid at the moment our turn around time can be quite a bit longer than normal, but I would never discourage anyone from contacting us privately if they have an issue. If you need something quickly, however, I would likely recommend the forums. In addition, if the issue is one that the answer may benefit other users as well, the forums are great for that.

Also, it isn't exactly what you were looking for, but it is possible to get notifications from threads you want updates on:

  • Hi Ben,

Many thanks for your reply. I discovered that the default setting in the forum is not to notify users by email, even to posts they follow. I had expected that giving my email address and subscribing to (automatically following) my posts would mean email notification. I've changed my settings, so they should work now.

Is it possible to reconfigure the forum to email users of replies to their posts by default? Obviously users could then deselect email notification if desired.

I agree. I am new and still not able to use 1 Password with my Mac. I'm inexperienced and older. Talking with anyone would be a great relief. The tutorial is helpful but not user friendly enough. Once I get started, I tend to move faster, but at this point I would be glad to pay for a verbal exchange.

I do apologize, but we are a very small non-centralized team: The moderating team. As such we don't have "operators standing by." We aren't able to do support by phone at this time. We do however have some methods for troubleshooting if necessary beyond an email/forum exchange. If an issue gets to that point we will make arrangements for that with you.

    I hope that helps explain. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
