Problems after upgrade to 3.9 [Resolved: Configuration issue]

I have used 1PW for several months. No issues. Used Dropbox to keep my data. Followed upgrade instructions (get most recent, move app to trash, download & install from App store). Now I cannot open 1PW to look at or edit logins. Used to be able to do that form Application, icon in Dock or the 1PW icon in my browser via a drop down menu. None of those work now. Even preference seems very limited/sparse. It has an option for showing items in sidebar, but I can't open the program to get to the sidebar.

When I did the installation and now if I try and start 1PW from the application I see a screen with New User or Existing User. I choose existing user and point at the the "1Passsword.agilekeychain" file and as far as I can tell nothing happens. I am not making or saving any backups.

If this is normal, I would like to know that -- and obviously if this is not normal behavior with 3.9 I would like to know how to get 'normal'

Since I am not sure if I will get notifcations of postings here, I can be emailed at 2Cybers@Gmail.com

Thank you and have a nice day.

  • Further information. When I "start" 1PW and click on the 1Password menu item, one of the dropdown items is "Unlock" When I click that item I am asked for my Master Password. I know my master password but the system tell me "1Password could not be unlocked with the password you provided. Please verify the password and try again."

Hey there, Gordon! We replied to you via email, but I also wanted to follow up here with you as well in case it helps someone else.

In some cases, a configuration issue causes the 1PasswordHelper to not be able to work properly. If anyone else runs into this problem, just check out our troubleshooting site for more details. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
