Autosubmit not consistent in 3.9 MAS

Hello,

I raised this issue before, but never got an answer

On my iMac (2009) I had to go back to 3.8.6bx to ensure autosubmit does work

On my MBP (2011) I use 3.9 MAS, but autosubmit does not work consistently

sometimes it does (most of the time) but sometimes it stops working

entries are done OK, but it does not autosubmit

I play with prefrences (1P) to activate this, deactive that, reactivate autosubmit etc...

then it works again

anything I should do to have a regular autosubmit working ?

Thanks

I've found this behavior on a number of sites, but will just list one here to make it easy since the problems are probably related.

As an aside, this behavior existed in the 3.8.5 app with the 3.8 extension as well, but was fixed, briefly, with the 3.7 extension.

    Anyway...here's the site:

    https://www.greenmountaincoffee.com/

The behavior I see is that upon auto submit, the credential are input and entered the site then refreshes and the credentials vanish without being logged in.

Can you confirm this behavior and identify why?

    thanks!

    Hi The Doctor,

Are you sure you've got that URL right? The page it takes me to appears to be a domain squatter, with no apparent login form.
  • Typo...crap

  • Hey there, Giles9! I am sorry if we missed you previously. We are doing our best to keep up, but it is a jungle out there!

Do you mean that sometimes AutoSubmit works on a given site and then it stops working on the same site later on (that same day, session, etc.)? This shouldn't matter between 1Password 3.8 and 3.9, since it is the extension doing the work inside the browser. If you can give examples of sites (unless of course it just stops working for all sites periodically) that will allow us to test this to see if we can reproduce it.

Please let me know. I look forward to hearing back from you. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm going to merge this with another thread on the same subject. Thanks!

I was not, actually. The site you mentioned worked perfectly for me. 1Password autosaved my test credentials, filled them when I returned to the site, and submitted the form.

Did you try re-saving the form?

Well, no it is not regular, unfortunately, so I cannot pin point when or why

Not really in the same session, as if it does work.... it does not stop working

    How can I say this:

an example: I have reverted to 1P 3.8.x on my iMac has 3.9 did not autosubmit on certain sites

after seeing that the extension were updated I gave it a try with 3.9 again, and the problem came back

Worst, reinstalling 3.8.x kept the problem alive

I went and play with the preferences, (re: re- typed my shortcuts, change security settings an put them back as they were,a nd anything I could try to reset preferences in 1P

then it all came back with autosubmit working

    Why... good question

On the same note, sometimes, I have to re-type my shortcuts as they stop working

on my MBP, I have 1P 3.9 MAS, and all was always fine with autosubmit

same extension number on both computer

ex: of sites with the problem: https://bvi.bnc.ca and http://w3.nbdb.ca/index.jsp and https://secure.ingdirect.ca/InitialINGDirect.html?command=displayLoginRegular&locale=fr_CA&device=web and https://appleseed.apple.com (login)

As now: 1P 3.8.6 on iMac and 1P 3.9 on MBP (not an issue with this computer)

extension : 3.8.6b1 on both computers

system 10.7.2 safari 5.1.1 on both computers

other extensions or programs installed : same set-up on both computers

Honestly I don't really feel like installing 3.9 MAS on my iMac, as I don't want to loose time getting it to work again or reverting to 3.8.6 and having difficulties again

That ain't helping you folks but....

If I ever see a pattern develop relating to this problem, I'll advise you for sure

I am pretty certain this is not helpful for you

but that is my problem !!!

    Bye and thank you
  • To be clear...did you confirm that after the form was filled and auto submitted, that you were then in a logged-in state.

When I do it, the form is filled and auto-submitted too. But it should take you to a logged in state which is your profile page. Instead, it just leaves me on the home page and wipes out the credentials.

I've confirmed that if I just manually type in the same information and manually hit enter that it functions as expected.
  • I have a similar problem with 1Password 3.9 MAS an Safari Extension 3.8.5 ( I tried also with the beta version without luck ). Auto submit simply does not work, I have the login in the "Login for this page" list but it just does not auto submit. I don't know what happens, sometimes it works others don't. If I can help you guys to fix this bug I'm here but unfortunately it doesn't look reproducible.

Autosubmit is, in fact, done differently in 1Password 3.9. 1Password 3.8 sends a Return key event to the browser after filling via 1Password's background process. 1Password 3.9 performs autosubmit via the sandboxed extension in JavaScript. There are some difference in success rate between the two methods.

There is also a related issue specific to Chrome which we are working to resolve. It seems that the new version Chrome does not allow 1PasswordAgent to submit with the Return key anymore. <-- This is only applicable to 1Password 3.8.

I have the same issue. Autosubmit works on some pages and not on others. One page where it never works is Facebook's secure login page (https://www.facebook.com/). 1P 3.9, extension 3.8.5. Thanks. [Edit: I should add that this is under Safari 5.1]

    Hi Gilles,

I'm not sure why that would have any effect, but I'm glad to hear it is working better for you now.

    Thanks for the update!
