Disappearance of App from Phone's App List

My topic title says it all: I've installed the App. It works brilliantly for a time in conjunction with Dropbox. Then it just disappears from my App list. Can't locate it when I go to the Apps Settings. So I re-install it from Android Market. Then it continues to work, but only for a time when the entire cycle is repeated. Latest occasion this morning. Is there a fix so this doesn't happen in future?

    Hello Dialogic,

I am sorry to hear about your issues.

Some customers previously reported the issue. I also have some applications disappearing without an apparent reason from the screen

(although the applications are not uninstalled and if I go to Settings -> Applications I can see and launch them from here).

That is a known issue with Android OS, applications themselves have nothing to do with the installation process.

I noticed that the issue appears more often with applications installed on SD card (1Password by default is installed on the phone's SD card to

decrease a device memory footprint). Once you use your phone for the file transfer with computer, the SD card is unmounted while transfer is in progress. At that time Android OS may think that the application is uninstalled and tries to remove the application shortcut from the phone application screen.

  • That same thing happened to me this morning. The 1password disappeared and I couldn't find it anyplace. I downloaded and re-installed. That took care of it.

    Hi tcaggie24,

I am glad that you fixed the issue.

In addition, please review the posting below (in addition to two postings I mentioned in my previous email).

I hope you will find the information there highly relevant to the issue we are discussing.

BTW, please make sure you upgraded your phone to the latest Android Operation System version available, it may prevent the problem from reappearing.
