Still no Auto-Save, no Auto-Login, no Agile forums login

Using 1Password 3.8.5 with extension 3.8.4b2 and Firefox 6.0.2.

Since many weeks and many extension versions there is no auto-save, no auto-login for any manually saved new login, no functionality for logins that work with popup windows (like the login to the Agile forums here).

On some pages things work very weird. For example www.samsclub.com: When I want to use this (manually saved) login I get directed to that page and the data gets filled in and nothing happens. When I then click onto "Login" the page refreshes but I'm still not logged in. I then have to go a second time through the login process (login with 1Password, getting again directed to the page, data get filled in, I have to manually click onto "Login") and only then I end up logged in. I can repeat that multiple times, it works always in exactly the same way).

Will 1Password ever work again as it used to be, or is Agilebits happy with it as it is and with cashing in from new customers from the Apple store?

It is super frustrating and it is certainly pathetic that Agilebits raises at this time of super-non-functionality the price of 1Password by 25 %.

Hey there, desertman! I am sorry for the trouble.

It sounds like it may be time for you to resave your forum Login item, as we recently upgraded IPBoard and it may be working differently now. I personally didn't have any trouble, however, as I am here writing to you now. Keep in mind that if you try to log in using the popup login form you will have to bring it up in order for 1Password to fill it. It cannot fill form fields that are hidden in most cases.

Another thing that might help is using a standard login page instead of the popup form for your Login item. Please try this URL:

Regarding Sam's Club, I tested this myself but didn't have any problems -- even before the latest update. Just make sure 1Password is up to date (1Password menu > Check for Updates) and then install the latest Safari extension (1Password menu > Install Browser Extensions), and let me know in detail what steps you are taking and what is or is not happening as you expected. Additionally, manual save is working well here too. Please try the following:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.

    3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).

    4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.

As for the price change, this happens from time to time. Fortunately, if you already purchased 1Password, you got it cheaper, and there is no need to buy a second copy, as your license entitles you to use it on all of your Macs!

We are currently working on adding AutoSave to the Firefox 6 extension, and will have it completed as soon as possible. And in case you haven't noticed, we aren't finished with 1Password (or the extensions) yet! We released a new stable version of each (and also some betas) just within the last few days, and we aren't showing any signs of stopping. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I hate everything about the new One Password for Mac and have for weeks. The only thing the same sort of is the log on from the what I will call desktop manager. I cannot fill in anything. This stupid thing looking like a safe appears and I can't save new logins....get my wallet to work....basically nothing on Safari or Firefox works like it did. I had a IP and I would click on it and there would be a drop down and I could save logins, I could pick logins, I could use my wallet...ie credit fill in page all those things and now I can't do any of that from that silly console that appears......so NO I am not happy with the new version and wish we could opt out and do the old. I signed up here just now...I never do these boards so excuse me if I am breaking any etiquette or saying this in the wrong place but I was looking for a place to express my displeasure and this was the first post and board I came to so I am saying this all here. Not sure how this all works....I used Facebook login option....will I get an email if this is being responded to or do I have to come back and check?

    Hey there, Graber! Welcome to the forums! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I am sorry for the confusion. It sounds like you are referring to the new extension in Safari and Firefox.

We have had to make some big changes in order to support Safari 5.1, Lion, and also Firefox 6, 7, 8, and beyond. We have made a lot of improvements to the new extensions, but it definitely takes time to get used to something different.

1Password tries to detect login forms, but unfortunately this isn't always possible. If a particular site is proving to be problematic, having the URL will allow me to test it myself to see if we need to fix something.

I also wanted to mention the various ways you can use our new extensions: If you are a keyboard guy (I prefer to use 1Password this way myself), you can use Go & Fill by pressing ⌘⌥\ (Command+Option+Backslash) to open up the 1Password extension window to the All Logins tab, typing a few characters to find the desired Login item, and then pressing Return to have 1Password open a new tab, load the website, and Fill & Submit the login form. If you are already at the login page, just press ⌘\ to bring up your list of Login items for the site. And if you only have one, it will automatically Fill & Submit it for you.

Alternatively, you can use the mouse to click the 1P toolbar button to bring up the extension window, click the second tab in the sidebar, and then click a Login item to Go & Fill as described above.

I hope this helps. If you are still having trouble, please let me know in as much detail as possible what steps you are taking and what is or is not happening as you expected. I look forward to hearing back from you. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

P.S: I also quoted your post, so that hopefully -- depending on your account preferences -- you may get an email notification of my response.
