Same here.

    It tells me

"The 1Password Extension is not up-to-date; version 3.8.4.31071 is now available." But i am actually using "Password - Version: 3.8.4.31071"

Tried different extension versions. Don't know if it stopped working with the upgrade to the App Store version of 1Password. All I know is that it worked before ...

  • Hey, guys! I am sorry for the confusion. We only support official stable releases of the major Mac browsers.

You may be able to get it working using our classic Chrome extension (available here), but we will not be updating it going forward. While I won't say never, we don't currently have plans to support SRWare Iron. However, we are always evaluating things as they develop. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I think you should be more versatile and support other browsers which are less intrusive such as SRWARE, Opera and such. Sticking with only the 3 mainstream browsers its perhaps more cost effective but it limits the growth factor of others . it appears the number of browsers you are supporting is dwindling. You started with I think 7 Browsers and now you are down to 3. I would like to remind you that some of us are not stuck with the mainstream browsers and would like to see support for the orphaned ones.

Perhaps is time to look for other alternatives on password managers?

We appreciate the feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve 1Password. Support for additional browsers is definitely something we can consider for the future. Thanks!
  • We are acutely aware of this, avinator, as many of us at AgileBits are huge fans of alternative browsers such as Fluid and OmniWeb that we are not able to support going forward. It is a combination of technical hurdles as well as resources, since we not only need to have a reliable means to integrate with browsers that won't be brittle and break with OS and browser updates, but also the manpower to implement it in the first place.

It isn't our aim to only support the major Mac browsers, but instead it is a pragmatic approach designed to ensure that we do the greatest good for the greatest number of people. Once things have settled down a bit there we will be in a better position to evaluate if it will even be feasible to support additional browsers. I can't speak for the rest of the team, but this thread is the first I have ever heard of SRWare. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
