Logins Missing from 1Password
Recently I went to Amazon.com and attempted to login using 1Password. However, my password from Amazon was missing. I opened up 1Password and searched for it, but I could not find it anywhere. I also noticed that some of my logins from other websites are missing.
I followed the advice on another post here and tried to clear the cache using the Help menu in 1Password. I didn't notice any changes.
I am running Lion 10.7.1, Safari 5.1, and 1Password 3.8.5.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey there, nbrown26! Welcome to the forums! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
This is strange indeed. When you edit the Login item, if the password was removed it should be listed in your Password History. If they were there before and they are not any longer, there are a few things you can try:

Go to Help > Troubleshooting > Rebuild Data File and see if something was damaged and can be repaired byt this process.

If something is still missing, go to File > Backup Data File to save a fresh backup, and then go to File > Restore Data File from Backup to revert to an older backup to see if the data is present there...and of course you can restore from the backup you just saved if that doesn't pan out.
Please let me know what you find. I look forward to hearing back from you. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -
Brenty,
Thanks for the reply. I should have been more clear. The entire login for these websites is missing, not just the password. A search using the search bar set to "Everything" and "Everywhere" reveals nothing. I gave option 1 a try, but I didn't see any changes. I know I can try option 2, but part of my fear is that if 2 logins are missing, how do I know others aren't gone?Flag 0 -
Hello again! I am sorry for the misunderstanding.
Did you check the Trash? You can find it in the sidebar in 1Password. I know I have accidentally deleted the wrong thing before. Unless you empty the Trash in 1Password, it will still be there if it is removed that way. If, however, the .1password item was removed from your 1Password.agilkeychain in the filesystem (rather than from within 1Password), it will not show up in the Trash. Do you have any 'security' or 'cleaner' software running that may have removed some data? In the case of a false positive, some files may have been 'quarantined' or otherwise removed if it was believed that they were not needed anymore. You may also want to check the Trash in OS X to see if there are .1password files there.
With the second suggestion I originally offered, you will be backing up your current data first, which will allow you to revert to it if needed. You likely have numerous backups to choose from, since 1Password saves these automatically when changes are made. And if the item was removed using the main 1Password application, there should be a backup saved as well.
Just to clarify, is it possible that you were previously using Safari's built in AutoFill feature and the login was saved there, or was it present in your 1Password vault previously?
We will get to the bottom of this. Let me know how it turns out. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0
