1Password Crashes every single time!

For all intents and purposes I have not been able to use 1Password since purchasing the Mac/Win bundle. It's fine on my Mac (With few exceptions) but it is unusable in Windows. If I try to save new logins it crashes. If I try to add software records it crashes. If I try to add anything at all it crashes. I thought that maybe I had some issues with Windows so I let it go because I knew I was going to re-install WIndows soon.

Well soon finally came last weekend and with very few other apps installed 1Password is still as useless as it always was. I know I probably can't get my money back at this point so what I would like is to have something that works. I simply can't believe that AgileBits released this as a stable product.

More often than not if I try to use one of the browser extensions I have to enter my master password then restart my browser to see all my logins. This is absolutely awful.

    Hi rocknblogger,

What error are you getting? Have you sent us an error report? Do you happen to have reproducible steps?

As for getting your money back: if the product is really useless to you, then we'll refund your purchase. We would not want your money if you're really unsatisfied.

For what it is worth: our product is stable. We have many satisfied customers. However, I believe your problems are real and I would love to reproduce and fix them.

You can always contact me here or off-list: stefan AT agilebits DOT com

    Thanks!

Reproducible steps? It's reproducible 100% of the time. I cannot add anything. Please see the screenshots. Just for the sake of the screenshots I tried to add a note, software, a login and an identity.

The screenshots were too large to insert into the post so please click on the above links to see them. Also please take note that the files that are in 1Password are from Mac via sync. I have not been able to add a single file in Windows.

One thing is better. I can now send crash reports which I did. In the past when I tried I was not even able to do that.

EDIT: My apologies for starting this in the BETA forum. I'm NOT using the BETA version and I didn't realize I was inside this section of the forums. Please move to the correct forum so there's no confusion.

Moderator's note: No problem. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I've moved this topic to the 1Password for Windows forum, as requested.

    Hi rocknblogger,

I have received your error reports. I'm contacting you off-list.

    Thanks, Stefan.
  • rocknblogger, I understand you're frustrated, but no one was questioning whether the problem was reproducible. The term "reproducible steps" refers to the sequence of actions that led to your seeing the problem. The screen shots are fine, but they don't tell us how you got to the point where the message appeared.

    I see you're working directly with Stefan, so you're in good hands. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

There were no steps. Any normal action would trigger a crash. Like for example trying to create any type of record, notes, software, login, wallet item etc. Steps: Start 1P enter password, click to add anything, click save, crash.

I think it's your error reports that I've seen in the e-mail queue (support@agilebits.com), and we're looking into them.

If you want to tie them to this forum thread, you can include the URL of the thread in your next reply to us.

  • We hope to get confirmation from rocknblogger, but we believe this is fixed in the newest version of 1Password for Windows.

Please check for the new version.
