After most recent upgrade, none of my auto logins will work

Last night I upgraded to version 3.8.6, build 31152 and now I notice that none of my auto logins that were working before work anymore... They take me to the login page and that's it... I am then stuck manually entering username and password which sort of defeats the entire purpose of using 1Password in the first place...

Only some of my autologins even worked before this upgrade... Those "some" would take you all the way to the desired page after entering username and password... The others (the ones I am saying didn't completely work) would enter the username and password but wouldn't complete the final click of "Enter" to get you into the page.. But that, of course, is no big deal... I click the button myself and away we go... But that was then...

Now, even logins that worked all the way won't even enter my username and password... This is getting a bit frustrating... Any idea why this happened and if I rebuild my logins from scratch will they work again or not??? Thoughts??? thanks.... bob...

Oh, hold one... Now I noticed that my Safari Extension was GONE... So I followed the procedure to install the Extension and now my logins are working again... Was I supposed to know that??? Am I always supposed to install or reinstall the Safari Extension every time I upgrade 1Password which as you know is often if you are on the Beta list and if you choose to keep up to date??? So with an Extension reinstall on Safari, my logins are working, except maybe for those ones where it won't complete the Enter process... I actually haven't checked any of those yet... Will do so shortly... thanks... bob...
  • Yep. Got a blank box when I attempted to log in to several sites. Oops.

Went to the master page, copied the sign ons and used it as a source.

    Keep at it guys.

Glad to hear you got it sorted. No, normally you should not have to reinstall the extension after an update.

    Hey Bill,

Did you install the Safari extension as mentioned above?

Bill can you please make sure extensions are enabled in Safari? Safari > Preferences > Extensions > slide the slider at the top right to ON.

Yep, enabled, 1P is in there and "On" selected Tried again but still wouldn't install. Have a coffee and relax. I won't die if it's goin' slowly <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
  • Hey there, diitto and Bill! I am sorry for the trouble. Were/are either of you using Safari 5.0? Safari 5.1 requires our new 1Password extension, so making the transition to the new Safari version could cause what you are seeing. Once the extension is installed though, 1Password isn't able to remove it; instead this must be done within Safari itself (Preferences > Extensions > 1Password > Uninstall).

In your case, Bill, could you tell me what OS, browser, and 1Password versions you are using? Please let me know. I look forward to hearing back from you. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Hi... diitto here... You asked if I was using Safari 5.0... No... I'm using Safari 5.1... As I noted above, after I upgraded to 1Password 3.8.6, build 31152 and then noticed that my auto logins would no longer populate usernames or passwords, I was in the process of getting ready to try to create a new login for one of my sites when I just happened to notice that the 1P Safari Extension Button was not longer in my Safari toolbar... So I couldn't go in and turn on "save logins"... That prompted me to go follow the procedure for installing the extension... After successfully doing so, all my logins started working again as they had before the upgrade... Above you guys said that the extension should not have gone away (??) so that might be a mystery???

Anyway, I also did try again one of my logins that I above said worked up to the point of entering the username/password info but would not do the final "Enter" meaning I had to push the button manually... As I said, no big deal, I would live with that nicely forever but I did remake that particular login last night and now even the "auto enter" works so that's a good thing... The only mystery might be why my Safari Extension needed to be reinstalled after this most recent upgrade... thanks... bob...
  • Sorry for the delay Brent. Everything works except the auto save when visiting a new site and entering a new password. Guess I'll live with it until enough people complain and it gets fixed.

No way, Bill! We aren't letting this go that easily! Please give me URLs to the sites you are having trouble with. AutoSave should be working, and if it is a site-specific issue, we need to see if we can improve this for you! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

AutoSave was implemented nearly two months ago, so if it isn't working for any sites on your system, there may be something else wrong. In this case, could you please send us a Diagnostics Report? You can generate one in 1Password on your Mac by going to Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report... Just attach this to an email (support at agilebits dot com), and be sure to include any other details or screenshots you can as it will help us understand the problem better. Please also include a link to this thread for context.

    We will get this working for you! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I know we can do better, Diitto! Extensions are installed and updated completely independent of the main 1Password application now, so if they are disappearing something is very wrong. Do you have 'security' or 'cleaner' software running that may have decided that the 1Password extension was a threat or no longer needed? We have seen this in the past. If none of this is setting off any alarms in your head, could you please send us a Diagnostics Report? Please let me know. We will get to the bottom of this! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
