While this is less common, you can absolutely transfer your data to the Mac from your iPad. Using Dropbox, you can also keep the data in sync automatically.

Before you do anything else though, be sure you back up your data. Just launch 1Password on your iPad and go to Settings > Data > Backup & Restore and follow the instructions to navigate to the address provided using the web browser on your computer to save the .1ptbackup file.

It is a little counterintuitive, but you need to create a new database in 1Password on your Mac to set up the sync initially. Our Dropbox sync page has an in-depth walkthrough, but here's a quick rundown for your particular situation:

Sign up for a free Dropbox account.

Download and install their software on your Mac and log in using the Dropbox account you created.

Launch 1Password on your computer and go to Preferences > General, and under Data File click on "Move to Dropbox..."

Wait for Dropbox to finish syncing your data. You can verify this by clicking on the Dropbox icon at the top of your screen. It's all set when it says "All files up to date" in the menu.

Then launch 1Password on your iPad and go to Settings > Sync > Dropbox, and turn Dropbox Sync ON.

Enter your Dropbox login information (and the Master Password for the 1Password data on your computer, if prompted) and your 1Password data will be automatically synchronized in the background!
..That's it!
