Several unrelated problems

I have two major issues with 1Password for the mac app store.

1. Ever since I updated to he mac app store version of 1Password it has been impossible for me to put new login information into folders. For example after I create a new login for a site and put it into a folder it will not be in the folder after editing it or after quitting 1Password.

2. The second problem is very annoying after editing information for anything in 1Password a few seconds later I am taken back to the Browser Extensions tap.

Is anyone else having the same problems with the version of 1Password in the Mac App Store?

  • Thanks for the report, Hav1, and sorry for the trouble. We'll try to have these problems fixed in the next update. I don't have a workaround for the first problem, but for the second one, try clicking 1Password > Preferences > General and unchecking the Browser Extensions box.

Thank you for the quick response I have tried the workaround for the second problem and it worked thank you.

Agreed. Problems are there, fix is needed.

I just bought the 3.9 mac app store version. Wish I hadn't. Missed the sale, but even at the sale price I would have felt sorry I bought the product.

    1. Import options: cannot import Keepass 2.13 data. (There is no "export as text" option in 2.13 as described by your documentation; can export as .csv or .xml, neither of which your import will recognize as valid "keepass format" data; have to go with generic .csv import instead). Bought primarily because docs said import was possible. Please SPECIFY VERSION so users will know that they'll be forced into manual .csv import if (god forbid) they use the current keepass version.

    2. Folder problems: this is SEVERE. I can create folders, but (a) cannot move items into it, as described in earlier post they go in temporarily but then are no longer in folders when I re-open file; (b) nesting folders does not work -- similar behavior: they seem to nest ok, but then everything reverts back a single big list of folders with no nesting.

I have 140+ password entries in my keepass file. The best I can get with this buggy version 3.9 is one giant list of 140+ items in a single list. Not good. Not good at all.

    I want my $50 back. :-(

    Hey Bill,

    1. I'm not too familiar with Keepass, but if you want to start a new thread, we might be able to provide some better assistance for your specific import situation. Others in the community may also have some additional insights, but it can be hard to find a topic if it is buried in another unrelated thread. I will be sure to ask the developers about Keepass imports, so I can be ready when you create the Keepass import thread.

    2. The issues with folders will be resolved in the next update. We sincerely apologize for the trouble.

Applications (including 1Password) that are sold through the Mac App Store are actually sold directly by Apple, not by us. Apple's official policy (which can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4461) is:

"If you experience a technical issue with an app, first contact the developer of the app for assistance. Their support contact information can be found on the app's page in the Mac App Store. If that does not resolve the issue, contact Mac App Store Customer Support."

Mac App Store Customer Support can be found here:

I would love to get your import issue resolved: Start New Topic
