Yearly fee? Free upgrade from v3.9 to v4 when released? [Answered]

Hi.

I'm a total noob here at this forum. I've tried to use the search but found it to be anything but useful, don't know why my searches show up blank...

I have two questions regarding 1Password:

1) If I buy the 3.9 version, will a future upgrade to version 4.0 be free?

2) Are there any annual fees attached to this software? At the moment I'm using a free version of "Keeper", but everytime i log in, the software wants me to buy a "backup 1 year" for approx. US $12 (SEK 75 in the Swedish App Store). The reason I'm asking is that since 1Password is quite expensive as it is, I want to make sure there are no extra (=hidden) charges to the software before I decide to buy it.

Thanks!

    Hi Christofer81,

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for your interest in 1Password!

    1) Yes, all purchases of 1Password 3.9 include a free upgrade to 1Password 4.0.

    2) There is no "annual fee" as 1Password is a product, not a service. You can continue to use the version of 1Password that you purchase for as long as it suits your needs at no additional cost. There will be new versions in the future and those new versions of the product may have a cost associated with them. Whether or not there will be a cost is generally indicated by the version number: 4.x updates will generally be free to existing 4.x users, but the upgrade from 4.x to 5.x will generally be a paid upgrade.

    I hope that helps.
