Any size/growth limitations
As I begin to use 1Password to store information about a lot more things than I had originally anticipated, I am wondering if I will ever reach a limit.
Is there a limit to the number of 'things' that are stored in 1Password? Logins, Accounts, Identities, etc.
How about any (file size, # of files) limits in terms of attachments stored in the tool?
Thanks for providing what I would say is one of the most valuable and cherished tools in my 'personal information management' arsenal.
Tony

Hiya, Tony, thanks for the kind words! Great to hear that you're finding 1Password useful. There are no hard limits on total data file size or number of items stored, but it's possible that things can get unwieldy with a really large data file. I've heard of customers with data files > 1GB because of attachments. Personally, I have few attachments but many items: currently about 2,840. I haven't experienced any performance hits because of this, and my ~1700 logins appear instantly in all our supported web browsers. There is a 20MB limit on individual attachment file size.
I hope that helps!Flag 0 -
Thanks Nik. I'll keep that in mind as I move forward with using 1Password as my vault of choice for sensitive info.
How can you find out the current size of the 'data file'? Is it the total size of the '1Password.agilekeychain' folder? Mine is 32MB.
When I backup my data file it is ~25MB (zipped) and shows as having 660 items.

On behalf of Nik, you are quite welcome! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
You are correct that 1Password.agilekeychain is all of your 1Password data. The backups are compressed so they are a tiny bit smaller. (The active data file needs to have quick read/write access, so it is not compressed.)
