How is the transition going?

Hi!

How is the transition from oldstyle 1Password towards the new extensionwise 1Password going?

I assume you are well aware of the lagging of the new extensions as well as the fact that 1password has lost its compatibility with a lot of forms.

Both the lagging and the lost compatibility has made major dents in my workflow. I very often find myself sitting watching the screen waiting for a login to happen, while 1password, secretly and silently, is waiting for me to add an 'Enter' or a 'Tab' and then an 'Enter' or a number of 'Tabs' and sometimes even a mouseclick (Yikes!)

So my question to you is:

How is the transition going?

When do you think the transistionprocess will be complete? (When do you think I will get a userexperience close to the former quick, snappy and stable 1password?)

Are you happy with the transition so far?
• David, we're really happy with the transition. Certainly there is some functionality to be restored and some growing pains, but overall having a uniform interface and similar codebase across browsers enables us to be far more future-compatible than was possible before. It's great having an extension that worked with Firefox 7 on day 1.

I'm sorry to hear that your experience with the new extensions has been less than stellar. If you're experiencing lag or anything of that nature, that's not normal and we should investigate it. For example, I have almost 1700 login items and am able to use them instantly in any of our supported browsers. I have experienced no lag or performance problems. If you can share the specifics of your experience with us, we'd love to get to the bottom of it and fix the problem.

There have been some site-specific issues with autosubmit, but the most that should be required of you is pressing the return key or clicking the login button after the form is filled. If you're having to jump through more hoops than that, please give us some example URLs so that we can test them and try to reproduce the problem on our end.
  • You're really happy with it. I'm really frustrated. The OP is having the same experience as me, with hundreds of logins.

Autosubmit being the least of the problems, the bigger one having support say that they are "really happy", which indicates fixes are going to be really slow in coming.

    unbelievable, you are very happy?

You must be living in a dream world as your customers are clearly not happy.

I'm using this software for years and now it is pretty much useless. After you upgrade it has changed from a software I use many many times daily without any problems to the software which causes the most problems of everything I have installed (and that's a lot)

I just wish there was a good alternative

Most of the issues that have been reported have been resolved as of the latest version of 1Password and its browser extensions. If you are still having problems please start a new thread and give us the specifics. The more details you give us the more likely it is that we can help. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
