why did 1P button disappear from Firefox 7 after today's 1.0.8.222 update?

I just updated to 1.0.8.222 and the 1Password button disappeared from the toolbar in Firefox 7.0.1. It still appears in IE 9.0.2 and Chrome 14.0.

I check the Firefox extensions and 1Password 1.0.8.222 is there and enabled. However, the button is not on the toolbar and it's not possible to add it as described in the article 1P button missing from browser toolbar. Right-clicking the toolbar and selecting Customize... reveals that the 1P button is not available.

I tried removing the extension in Firefox, exiting Firefox, reinstalling it via the 1Password app preferences dialog, and relaunching Firefox, to no avail.

Comments

  • Downgrading to 1.0.8.221 restores the 1P extension in Firefox.
  • Hmm. Re-downloading 1.0.8.222 directly from https://agilebits.com/onepassword/win/release_notes and reinstalling also works. I had previously updated using the auto-update prompt in Firefox.
  • Okay, I assume something went wrong during the update process, but I'm unable to delete this topic.
  • Killdozer, the only thing I can think of is that perhaps the installer couldn't install the Firefox extension because Firefox was open at the time.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear it's straightened out, now. Thanks for updating the thread!
