Suggestion: Add Confirmation when Deleting Items

My wife and I started using 1Password and we love it. But we noticed It is far too easy to delete an item by mistake. The Delete button is located very close to the Edit button (practically touching), and is very easy to click. And fat-fingering the keyboard Delete key by accident also instantly obliterates your data. This is no undo (that I can see, anyway). My wife has already deleted items by accident. And since we use Dropbox to sync with an iPad and iPhone, the deletion immediately propagates and you get no chance to intercept.

The Delete button should probably be moved. But I would like to make a better suggestion for a future update: add a "Confirm Delete?" confirmation popup message. For those users who don't want an extra confirmation step, you can allow them to disable it in the Preferences, Hope to see this option soon.

    Welcome to the forum, aprescod!

In 1Password for Windows (and 1Password for Mac), deleted items are simply moved to the Trash, from which they can be retrieved easily. They're not really gone until and unless you empty the Trash, and THAT does require a confirmation.

It's been some time since I looked, but I believe the same is true in the 1Password apps for iOS devices.

    I hope that helps. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • Thanks, I completely missed the Trash folder. A "delete confirm" would be nice, but "Trash" is good, too. Also, I don't see "Trash" on the iPad, but it does have a "Delete Confirm" prompt.
  • Glad to help, aprescod!
