Latest update will not install

The latest update (version 3.8.10 build #31186) will not install. I'm getting an error message saying "1Password does not have permission to write to the application's directory." What do I need to do to fix this?

    Please open Disk Utility (from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility) and run a "Repair Permissions" on your hard drive.

    Thanks, Ben. I had already done that (several times). Should have mentioned it. I solved it by replacing the app. The permissions had gotten really messed up due to some major cleanup I did on my computer -- I reinstalled OS X, migrated all apps and my User folder back to the disk. That probably messed up the permissions beyond basic repair. It's working now.
