What's happening with Go and Fill
I tried FF6 as soon as it originally came out but backed it out to FF 5.0.1. A large part of the reason was that the very useful 1P Go and Fill option vanished. So I'm now waiting for 1P to resolve its issues with Firefox.
Go & Fill is working in all supported browsers with the current stable versions of 1Password, browser, and 1Password extension. Folders are not supported, but search is. Option-Command-\ will bring up the extension which will show a list of all your Logins which you can either scroll through or simply start typing a few characters of the title to locate and then press Return. We're looking at restoring support for folders in the extension, but I don't have a time frame for this. In the meantime, you can right-click the 1Password dock icon for access to your folders.
But right click the 1P dock icon goes to my default Safari browser which doesn't work for the many items which use Firefox instead. Safari/Go and Fill does not split the entries into their category folders, so it acts just like the ALL entry with over 300 items. To search, you have to know the name of the item as opposed to being able to look for it in a folder.
So in both browsers, I am sorely missing the previously brilliant 1P Go and Fill option. It sort of works in Safari 5.1, but with compromised functionality.
Fyi, I plan to use the Firefox enterprise version updated only every six months which will still get regular bug fixes, see https://wiki.mozilla...upport:Proposal . Along with many others, I see that the Firefox release schedule simply demonstrates they don't understand software Quality Assurance. Sometimes debugging software takes longer than planned, as demonstrated by many vendors including 1P, and a rigid update schedule can only mean that new versions of Firefox will be less reliable that before. Unfortunately, it provides an incentive to issue new software before all testing is completed.
The current issues with 1P and browsers page was last updated two months ago, Sept 7 2011. So what's the latest news now that yet another new version of Firefox - FF 8 - is due next week?

You might consider using Choosy which lets you set rules for what links open in which browser. You can set rules based on originating application, URL, most recently used browser, and more. You can even have it prompt you which browser to use when a link is about to open. It's pretty great and affords a lot of flexibility. Many of us on the team use it and love it.
in addition to the Dock menu, 1Password 3.9 also has an optional menu bar icon for even quicker access to the Go & Fill menu. Coupled with Choosy set to use the most recently used browser, your links will always open in the browser you are using regardless of the system's default setting. It's not "folders in the extension" but it is pretty close for the time being.

I am writing to you from The Future™. Firefox 8 is out and has been supported by 1Password for months. We are now reaping the rewards of all the hard work we put into the new extension. Firefox 8 came out and things not only didn't break, but they actually improved thanks to some fixes from Mozilla. That's a nice change of pace.
I'll also point out that the 1Password extension already works great in the Firefox 9 builds as well. No more hassles with browser versions. That's a thing of the past with the new extension.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.Flag 0
