Logins for the current domain cannot be used to Go & Fill

There are several sites that I visit that have the same user name and password. (These are most often related to my University user name/password). When I am on one of these pages and want to open another page that uses the same user name and password there is no option to open the new site in a new tab. the only option is to fill and submit on the current page. This is terribly annoying and seems to be a recent issue (I just upgraded to 3.9.1.) Is there a new setting that I need to change?

Sorry for the trouble. Logins for the current domain are only listed in the Fill and Submit section. If they contain different URLs but share a common domain this will be the case. I'll mention this edge case to the developers. In the meantime, consider opening a new tab where you will be able to use the Go & Fill feature to "Open Login in Current Tab" since the new tab will not be opened to that domain.
  • Thanks for the reply. I've been opening a new tab, but it's a bit of a pain. (Just one more step, but I'm lazy!)

Understandable. 1Password is designed to make everything as simple as possible, so it is noticeable whenever there is even one "extra" step. We'll work on improving this. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • Any update on this? It's a real pain. I do a lot of work on my University's system and I'm getting really annoyed. Seems like a pretty simple thing to add, especially since it was part of previous versions of 1Password.

I can understand why it would seem "simple", but the new extension is completely re-written from the ground up. None of the old code is in it anymore. I can't make any promises about future features, but I am advocating on your behalf for this.
  • I appreciate it and hope to see it in an update.
