RockMelt 0.9.68.1565 support

I can live with the Universal Unlock issue. While I find it odd that quitting the application doesn't prevent it's use my usual practice has been to lock followed by quit, I'll continue to do that. RockMelt is another story for me and likely deserves a thread of it's own rather than being mixed up with Universal Lock
I have attempted to install the extension (1Password - Version: 3.6.3.30953) from the link on numerous occasions for well over a month, even though the link talks about Snow Leopard and I am using Lion. What happens is I click on 1password, enter my master password and it just sits there.
console messages include

Subsequent attempts to use the extension get me this

Interestingly, if you follow this link you get this

Just disable Universal Unlock. It sounds like your expectations are lining up with the behavior exhibited when Universal Unlock is disabled. I think you will like it more. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
With Universal Unlock disabled, quitting each application (1Password, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) locks1Password in that application. So quitting 1Password.app won't lock your browsers (since you are still using them), but it does mean that launching 1Password.app will require your master the next time you launch it. To lock everything, quit everything. Just be sure to disable Universal Unlock in each browser where you want that behavior as well.
Me? I just leave 1Password unlocked all day. The only auto-lock option I use is "lock when sleeping". If I'm at my computer, I want 1Password unlocked. If I'm not at my computer, I close the lid. Boom. Locked. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
Now, as for RockMelt, I'll see about updating the language in the User Guide. It's not really "supported" in the sense that the current extension does not work with it, but I am using the "classic" 3.6.3 extension in RockMelt myself. Also, the legacy page mentions Leopard (not Snow Leopard) since the 3.6.3 extension is the last one to work in the much older Leopard. What we were attempting to convey was that the 3.6.3 extension is required for Chrome and all its variants in Leopard and also for the variants in general. Then again, the landscape is shifting so quickly this sentence might be out of date by the time you read it. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Can you confirm for me what version of RockMelt you are using?
Please try removing any and all1Password extensions you have currently installed in RockMelt and then install the version from this link:

If you are still having trouble, could you please produce a 1Password Diagnostics Report? To generate the report you'll need to download an item using this link:
http://cdn.agilebits...bleshooting.zip
This is the 1Password Troubleshooting application. It's in zip format, so after downloading it your browser may have expanded it for you, or you may need to do so by double-clicking on it using the Finder. You should end up with the 1Password Troubleshooting application -- ready to run. You can move it to any location you normally keep software, or leave it where it is for a quick run.
Launch the 1Password Troubleshooting application and you should see some tabs near the top of the window. Please click on the Diagnostics Report tab heading, and then click on the "Create Report" button. Within a few seconds, a pretty blue image should appear -- indicating the report is ready (this is just like the Diagnostics Report option in prior versions of 1Password for Mac). There's now an Export button you can use to save the report. Then attach the entire file to an email to support AT agilebits DOT com.
Please include a link to this thread in order that we might more quickly "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, though.
Once we see the report we should be able to help more. Thank you in advance!Flag 0 -

I don't think I realized how true that sentence was when I wrote it. I'm sorry that RockMelt isn't supported at this time. I really wish we could get it working for everyone. I guess I got excited and thought for a moment that since it Works For Me™ then I should be working for everyone. We'll continue to evaluate RockMelt and other Chrome-variants as we move forward. I'm sorry I don't have better answer for now.Flag 0
