1PW Repair 1P Data <-> 1P Mac Rebuild Data File

I have noticed an issue where selecting "Repair 1P Data" initiates the method and then uploads a bunch of files to Dropbox as expected. But, when I go home and open 1P on my Mac, all of my password strength meters show the worst rating, yet all of the data within each record is intact. If I select "Rebuild Data File" on my Mac it fixes everything and then re-uploads the entire vault. Is something out of sync between 1P Win and 1P Mac?

This is very repeatable for me as well.

That does seem likely, Fooligan. There are changes afoot, and 1Password for Windows no longer writes or reads the password strength to or from your 1Password data.

Update: I just checked with the Mac team, and here's the official line (from our blog, I believe):
If you sync your data across different versions of 1Password, you may see some oddnesses where you would expect password strength to show up until those versions fully catch up with 3.8.11. That is, 1Password 3.9.2 from the Mac App Store (at the moment) will incorrectly treat the lack of a strength indicator as a lack of strength. So please have some patience with potentially misleading strength indications on versions that haven’t yet caught up to 1Password 3.8.11 with this.
It's interesting to note that 1Password 3.9 (the MAS version) hasn't caught up with 3.8.11 in this respect. Don't you love software development logic? <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    I hope that helps, Fooligan.
  • I see, thanks for the reply. I figured it was most likely something to do with the format change. I can deal with it in the mean time.

    I am using Lion and 1P 3.9.
