If you want to sync 1Password for Windows with your iPhone, then I'm afraid Dropbox is your only option.
  • I'm not aware of any work underway to add wi-fi sync to 1Password for Windows.

I am interested, though, in hearing what features it lacks, as I find Dropbox ideally suited for my own personal use of 1Password on my Mac, PCs, iPhone, and iPad.

try it from behind a corporate firewall that disallows dropbox/cloud sharing, then tell us how "ideal" it is.

    thanks.

So how about you guys actually give your customers an option that will work without dropbox then? I hate to keep repeating myself, but there are a lot of users like RRRob and myself that CAN NOT USE DROPBOX PERIOD. I am continually stunned by agile bits inability to understand that not everyone has access to dropbox or conceive of the fact that not everybody wants to use them.

    Hey entr04y,

Thanks for reconfirming your vote for this. To be fair to everyone, though, there is only one "vote" per person.

I will be sure to advocate on your behalf to the developers about this.

If you have any further requests or if you are having any other problem with 1Password, please let us know. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Cheers,
  • entr04y, my comment about Dropbox was in direct response to flokass' statement that it doesn't support some features he needs. I neither wrote nor even implied that Dropbox is ideally suited for everyone, specifically because I'm aware that some companies block access to Dropbox.

    Context matters. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

yes, context does matter. that's why I was a bit surprised to see three posts to three different threads by three different users requesting the same thing (some other method to sync besides dropbox) moved to a single thread, out of context, with the implication that I am expecting to get multiple "votes" for a feature. After re-reading I do see that you are responding to his point about lack of features of dropbox and your use...

    However...

Taken in the larger context of agile bits fanatical devotion to dropbox in the face of a topic that comes up at least once or twice a week (please *any* other method of syncing besides dropbox/cloud storage) I think my statement holds... it isn't ideal for a significant segment of your users, nor is it workable. Every request is responded to with a mix of "just use dropbox", "dropbox is fantastic", "using dropbox is totally safe and secure with our software", and "while we never say never, we aren't considering other methods at this time." In total, that does add up to agile bits implying that dropbox is ideally suited for everyone... if it wasn't a different method would be on the roadmap, no?

I still think 1password is the best password manager available on any platform, but it is missing a basic feature that almost every other cross platform password manager has... a cross platform local syncing option.
