controlling access to iOS apps

David, Thx for the rapid reply! I believe I'll be adding [1Password for Windows to my PC].

I am wondering - do you know of an app that allows me to have passwords on some of the apps on my iphone while allowing me open access to others? For example, I would like to make and answer calls w/o a password but require a password to access email etc.

Regards,

Don M

  • Nothing that comes to mind, Don.

Perhaps someone else will have an idea, though, so I'm splitting this off into a new topic in the iOS forum.

It is not possible to password protect individual apps in iOS unless the apps are designed to do so. 1Password Pro is one such app, and there are likely others for different tasks (like private browsing apps). However, since iOS security is much tighter than OS X or Windows, there is no way for a third-party app to "hook into" the OS and add password protection to other apps. Each app is sandboxed and cannot interact directly with any other app.
