Saving a new entry everytime I login

Since a few weeks, 1Password keeps asking me if I want to save my Password - again, again, again, again - just because chrome has saved this password itself.

It would be nice to check if the data is _completely identical_ (Name & Password) before asking if you want to save it.

Fun Fact: 1Password fails on the agile forums, as it uses the mail address as password when logging in <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Please edit your Login or save a new one. You probably saved a Login for the registration page rather than the Login page:

Let me know if you are still having trouble after saving a new Login on the actual Login page.

Is 1Password locked when this happens? If so, try unlocking it and see if the behaviour changes.

    Please let us know. Thanks!

This has been fixed in 1.0.9.247

In addition to updating to 1.0.9.247, I'm afraid you'll have to remove (and then re-install) our Chrome extension:

    1. launch Google Chrome

    2. click the "wrench" icon in the upper-right corner

    3. click: Tools > Extensions

    4. find the 1Password extension, then click: "remove"

Can you please update to 1.0.9.247, follow these steps, and confirm the fix? Thanks!
  • Thanks for all those replies! Nice to see that you actually do care about your customers.

I did. But in my opinion, that should work too (saving at registration; working at login).

Nukey, 1Password can only save the fields in the form on the page at the URL where you save the Login.

If the site's coders name the fields on the "new account" or "update password" page radically differently from the fields on the "log in" page, 1Password may not be able to map one to the other. (For example, the "update password" page probably doesn't even include a "username" field, so there's no user name for 1Password to save.)
  • I'm aware of that. I rather meant a change on the forum-side than in 1Passwort itself!

Well, we'd have to change to some other forum software. We didn't create the forum software ourselves.

That does happen from time to time, but such decisions (and the reasons for them) are "above my pay grade," as they say. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
