Are there any drawback to ONLY using tags (not real folders)?

I'm new to 1password, but relying only on tags in Firefox (Safari's lack of tagging bookmarks is a shame.)

Are there any drawback to me not using just tags for my 1password items? I don't see much point in putting an item into a 'finance' folder when I can just tag it 'finance' and create a finance smart folder.

Do people often use a hybrid approach? If so, for what reasons (maybe there is a benefit I'm not realizing?)

(I can see some people not liking tags at all, so I'm glad the real folder structure exists for those users, but I'm mostly curious about those that use a hybrid approach.)

I use folders for hierarchy and tags for everything else, because I like to see some order to the designations. At this time, there is not a way to see hierarchy in tags, although it'd definitely be neat to see that.
