Chrome extension and country code top-level domains (ccTLDs)
I've recently updated to the latest version of 1Password (Windows) and also the latest Chrome extension. Now, when using the Chrome extension, my login details are not being auto-submitted (like they were in the past). I must now click the login button (or similar) to login (this is happening with the Agile forum login as well).
In addition, I have found that my Windows Live login details that were being auto completed and submitted, are no longer being populated. It seems that the extension is not matching the site with the details stored in 1Password. I have checked the URLs and nothing has changed.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks.
EDIT: With regard to the auto-submit not auto-submitting. I have to set the submit value to "always" (it was set to "if auto-submit is on") for it to work. I presume this is a bug, and that I don't have to change every login already stored?

I also have this problem.Flag 0 -
alanper and Xee997, I've found the Chrome extension (well, it's Mac counterpart) a lot "fussier" about auto-submitting; but I haven't been able to identify a pattern.
Could you try creating a new Login—using the new extension for Chrome—for one of those sites where the auto-submit behavior has stopped working? I'm curious whether new Logins have the same problem, or it's confined to Logins created in earlier versions.
Thanks!Flag 0 -

This is weird as you shouldn't need to use "always" to accomplish this. Can you double check that Autosubmit is enabled within the extension itself? You can find the "Automatically submit Logins" preference in the Settings > Logins page. Is it enabled?Flag 0 -

Hi, I don't know about the auto-submit problem (I don't use that feature). My only problem is that the extension doesn't fill Windows Live entries at all. This problem only exists with the Windows version. The extension has no problem with Windows Live on Mac (Chrome 16 with latest extensions, latest 1Password program).Flag 0 -
Please try saving the login manually like this:
1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.
2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.
3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).
4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.
If you are still having trouble, can you provide the URL you are using?
Thanks!Flag 0 -

Thank you, that solved it. Now all of my 4 Hotmail accounts works. Still kinda strange, the URLs of the old non-working ones and the new working ones seems to be identical... Oh well.Flag 0 -
I might add there seems to be a small bug in the latest Chrome plugin (v 16). If you unclick "Submit logins automatically" it will reverse it next time you restart Chrome. However, maybe it's just on my PC...
Also, the sharpness of the pop-up in the plugin (that asks you to save password) is bad. But that's just a minor graphical issue.Flag 0 -

I have tried the instructions as you detailed, but it still is not working. Interestingly enough it worked once. Now it doesn't work anymore. I have a few Windows Live accounts and it is happening across the board. I am using https://login.live.com to login. The 'location' value in 1Password is also 'https://login.live.com'.
Thanks for the help.Flag 0 -

alanper, when you say it isn't working, do you mean that you're unable to save a Login by following those steps or that the Login you save fails to fill the form correctly when you revisit the same URL subsequently?
Also, what is happening "across the board"?

Thanks for the quick reply.
I am able to save the login, but 1Password is not picking up the login details when i visit the site. i.e. when I'm at the login screen 1Password says "No logins saved for this site".
When I said across the board I meant that it is happening with all my Windows Live logins.Flag 0 -
I also have this problem. Just problems to login to Hotmail (login.live.com) all other sites are working well. After a while 1Password Chrome extension does not offer the credentials for login.live.com anymore. "No logins saved for this site" but after creating a new saved login it works but not for a long time and the same issue occurs again.
Any ideas?

What URL are you seeing in the web browser? What URL(s) in the 1Password login item(s) you expect to see under "logins for this site"?Flag 0 -

alanper, I'm not able to reproduce that behavior.
In the current versions of all four supported browsers—Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer—I just used the current version of 1Password to manually save a Login item (four different Login items, actually, for the purpose of testing) for the login form at that URL.
In all four cases, the username and password fields were detected and saved, and the resulting Login item correctly filled those fields on a subsequent visit to the site.

Hi David,
I know this sounds crazy, but it worked for ~30 minutes with me as well. When I came back to it, it was not working anymore. I hope that you still have the logins created in your test and that you can test again in that same environment and hopefully replicate the problem. If you like, I can set up a remote session to my machine (TeamViewer?) for you to connect to and see what I am seeing.
I am running Windows 7 64bit with Chrome and the latest 1Password release version.Flag 0 -
Just thought I'd let you know that the latest release (250) seems to have fixed the problem (I'll keep an eye on it). It was a bit of extra work to get it working though. I use 1Password on a PC and a notebook, with Chrome sync'ing the bookmarks, and Dropbox sync'ing the 1Password data. I redid all the Windows Live logins on the notebook; they were working fine. Then started up the PC. Dropbox sync'd and I started Chrome. 1Password on my PC did not pick up the Windows Live logins. I then redid all the logins again for Windows Live on my PC and got them working. When I powered up my notebook this morning all was still working. Hey, it was a few more hurdles than expected, but it is working, and that is good news.Flag 0

It seems I may have been a little quick on the trigger.
A problem related to this is now happening. This also used to work before the initial major update to the Chrome extension. It seems its also got to do with URL matching, and 1Password not recognising the URL/domain properly.
I use an online banking site, and what they do is they modify the URL you connect to slightly for the login page (I presume they do it for some form of load sharing). e.g. the URL is https://www10.encrypt.bankname.com the one time, then it can be https://www23.encrypt.bankname.com the next (basically a different number is being appended to the www part of the URL). 1Password used to deal with this nicely before the Chrome extension overhaul. Now it is not working anymore.Flag 0 -
This is a known issue for which we are working on a solution. Thanks for mentioning this! It helps us get an idea of how to best prioritize some development resources.
Details of the issue can be found in my post here:

As long as the domain is identical (bankname.com) and the TLD is .com, .edu, .gov, .mil, .net, .org, or .co.uk then it should match. Have you tried to remove our extension from Chrome and then re-install it?Flag 0 -
That's the problem. The TLD is niether .com, .edu, .gov, .mil, .net, .org, or .co.uk. Why should that make a difference (it's .co.za)?
Understood. As I mentioned above and in the aforelinked explanation, we are working on a solution. "Good news, everyone!"

You can try it out by checking the box to "Allow beta extensions" on the Browser Extensions page and then downloading he extension for your browser:

Make sure you are using extension version 3.9.0.b2 or later (3.9.0.39002 in Chrome) and let me know how it goes.
