1Password - Full Client - ETD?

Hi,

I'm in the process of ensuring all my key iOS software is available on Android; about to make the switch as Apple can't fix their BT Keyboard Stack. Anyhoo.

When are you guys going to be releasing the full 2 way sync, non-read only Android client?

Cheers.

    Hi mAcElite,

The app is still in development, will post an announcement when ready for Market.

We will need beta-testers for the application pretty soon, so is you could help as with the beta testing your help would be greately appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Gene

    Hokee,

Thank you very much for your offer !

Soon we will be in HUGE NEED for Beta testers , will let you know immediately when 1Password for Android is ready for Beta !

Here in the office we have a good selection of Samsung/HTC phones, however we don't have Motorola phones.

Android OS is very device specific, therefore, your help will be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

Great, thank you Harry Warrior !
  • Nice to read that. I will be waiting for the release. I looked at the reactions on the [s]Android Market[/s]...I mean Play Store here in France and noticed people giving bad ratings because the actual app is just a viewer.

Any comment on the interface? Will it have a reworked interface of will it remain unchanged? I must say it's quite laggy on the Galaxy Note.

    Hi J.M,

Thank you for the good question.

The interface will be totally re-worked in accordance with the new Android standards introduced in Jan 2012.

All complex professionally created images designed for iOS (which I like very much) will be discarded in favor of simple Holo light theme.

I don't have much custom imagery available to me, therefore, default Android icons, layouts, colors and backgrounds will be used as much

as possible (at least for the original release).

The application will be perfectly compatible with ICS devices, new look and feel will be ported as much as seems fit.

Action Bar will be made available through compatibility package on all devices running Android OS >=2.0

    Gene
  • Hi again GeneY

Well that's very good news. I'm definitely okay with an interface respecting Android standards...In fact that's what i was hoping to see.

If you ever need a beta tester with the Galaxy Note, i'll gladly help.
  • If u still need beta tester for full Android app count me in! I have Samsung Galaxy S2.

    Hi guys,

I just want to clear up something here. The 1Password for Android app is in full development at the moment, we do not have a timeframe on when it'll be completed. Since things can change during development, we can't release any information what will be included in the app until it is released.

It is our policy not to release any dates or timeframes until we're actually ready to release it. We don't want you guys to be disappointed when we don't release in a specific timeframe because we don't release based on a date, we release when the application is ready and has gone through several testing cycles. I'm sure you guys want a quality app and not a rushed one.

At the moment, while we appreciate your offers, we're not accepting any beta testers at the moment until we're ready. The moment that we'll be ready is the moment that you guys will hear about it at the forums here, the blog, our twitter feed and other places as well. From there, we may announce that we would start taking beta testers and you guys can sign up there.

Until then, we thank you for your patience while we continue to finish up the development of the Android app.

    Ok thanks.

    I was getting concerned, with nearly 4 days without a response <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> unlike agilebits..

Good to see you are busy coding though <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I'm going to close this thread for now since there really isn't anything else to say on the topic at the moment. Please feel free to create a new topic if there is anything else we can help with in the meantime. I'll be sure to post back here once we have something to announce.

    Cheers!
