Paying for 1Password again

I have used 1Password for a long time on both Mac and Windows and only just realized that the latest version on Mac only is available via the App Store.

I have read the FAQ, which seems to say that I have to pay £34.99 for it again, for which I will gain not only the 3.9 update but also a v4 licence.

Hmm. That's a lot of money to pay again. Has anyone done that? Is it worth it?

Also, what happens to my Windows version when v4 comes out? Will I have to pay for that again as well somehow?

Seems like a pretty messy situation to me <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sadsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-(' />

    Cool! We appreciate your support.

I'm not sure what Apple is charging in euros, but the rest sounds right, yes.

Ultimately, it is up to you to determine if 1Password provides value to you. Many people including myself find that its value greatly exceeds it cost. I can say that we have had a large number of customers decide to purchase 3.9, even though they already have a 1Password 3 license from our store.

Windows is unaffected. It upgrades separately from the Mac version, in general. The two products are not tied together.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks. I have decided to pay for 1P again via the MAS as it's nice and easy and I like being on the latest version. The 34.99 translates to $55 and as I paid $60 last time just over a year ago (not counting the iPhone app), I really hope not to be hit with more charges for a while <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Thanks for doing a good job though. Love the software.

Thanks, Allan! We appreciate your support. It has been over 2 years since 1Password 3 debuted and version 4 (which you will get in a free Mac App Store update) is not yet out yet. I can't promise anything, but if history is any indication you may be all set for the next couple years until version 5 which is barely a gleam in the developers' eyes. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

If you need anything else in the meantime, just let us know.

    Cheers!
