1Password on Mac not updating with changes from Dropbox keychain
I have an 1Password on a Snow leopard mac (latest version), and on a Lion mac (mac app store latest version) as well as an iPhone and iPad all syncing using dropbox.
I have a problem where entries / changes made today on the SL mac have not propagated to the Lion mac. They are showing in the IOS apps and if I browse the contents of the /Users/Jonathan/Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain and load up 1Password.html the updates are there.
So it looks as though the mac app store 1Password is not refreshing what it is displaying. I have checked in the prefrences and the path is correct - see attached.
Please advise.
Many thanks
Jonathan Robinson

I think I am having a similar issue, though with two Lion Macs and using SpiderOak (not DropBox). I have used and synced 1PW with SpiderOak successfully for more than two years, but all of a sudden, changes made on one device are not being synced with the other device.
Looking forward to hearing from the Agile folks about ideas here.
Thanks so much.Flag 0 -
Hey Jonathan, and helpmehelpu
Just to check things out please make sure Dropbox is not hung and that it is syncing. Or maybe its not actually running. We have seen quite a few support requests in the Dropbox forums in the last week or so with Dropbox not running.
If that checks out maybe the extension is not picking up the changes correctly. Please see this topic.

ps helpmehelpu As SpiderOak is not supported I am unable to give suggestions. Well I could give suggestions if I knew more about SpiderOak. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> Sorry
My best bet for you is to try the troubleshooting link above.Flag 0 -
Try rebuilding your data file in Snow Leopard (Help > Troubleshooting > Rebuild Data File). Then wait for Dropbox to finish syncing on both of your Macs. Once it has finished syncing, open 1Password in Lion and clear the cache (Help > Troubleshooting > Clear Cache).
Are you sure that 1Password on Lion is using the data file in your Dropbox folder? Is the screenshot you posted above from Snow Leopard or Lion? The path needs to be identical on both machines.
Please let me know how it goes.Flag 0 -
Good news. Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad it is working well now. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
You can configure the unlock settings in 1Password's preferences on the Security tab.

Hi Jabr,
The auto locking setting in the main application should be controlling the behavior in the extension. So we need to double check whether this is working for you, and if it isn't, figure out why.
If there is such a problem, it would mean that main application isn't communicating with the extension properly. That communication is mediated by 1Password Helper (also known as 1Password Agent). So can you test a few things to see that the communication is happening?
Can you check that items modified in the application show up in the extension as well. And, if you wouldn't mind, try this in the other direction.
Also, within the extension, please go to Settings (the gears icon) > Security and turn on "Enable Automatic Unlock". That shouldn't really change auto locking, but it does make sure the communication channel is open.
So please give these a try and report back. Thanks!
