keyboard shortcut not working in chrome 16

Hi,



on a fresh install of win7 with chrome16 and 1password (all installed today) the ctrl+\ keyboard shortcut is not working at all. i can manually open the 1password extension by clicking on the icon in Chrome though.



any ideas how I might fix that? (troubleshooting report below)

  • Jason, can you try the Ctrl+\ shortcut in any of the other browsers, such as Internet Explorer 9 (32-bit) and Safari 5.1.x?



    Also, can you try any other keyboard shortcut to see whether that makes a difference?

    It looks like [i]1Password Helper[/i] was not running in the background. [i]1Password Helper[/i] is what controls the keyboard shortcuts for the "new" extensions in Chrome and Safari.



    Please do let us know if you have any further trouble. We'd like to make sure everything is working well for you and others if there is a problem we need to resolve.

    I am continuing to have trouble with the 1Password Helper experiencing problems. It seems as though it either does not start up automatically at boot time or crashes.

    When the keyboard shortcut is not working, can you open Task Manager by pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL and tell me if you see [font=courier new,courier,monospace][b]Agile1pAgent.exe[/b][/font] listed there along with [font=courier new,courier,monospace][b]Agile1pService.exe[/b][/font]?

    the agent and service are both running but I still get the red exclamation mark in Chrome.



    I can send you a screen shot but I can't see how to attach a file to the forums. I could email it to you if you like?

    It sounds like the helper (Agile1pAgent.exe) is running just fine. (A screenshot won't be necessary, but thanks for offering.)



    Have you stepped through the troubleshooting section in the User Guide for this issue?

    Please try all the steps in order as they represent the solution to 99% of all trouble in this regard.



    Specifically, I am wondering if you are using a proxy server or one of the security products listed on this page (AVG, NOD32, Sophos):

    Please let me know how it goes after carefully following those steps.

    This problem is still on going for me. every day or so the keyboard shortcut in chrome stops working. i'm using the beta of 1password and its extensions. i just updated again today in the hopes that this issue is fixed (but I'm not holding my breath)



    I have checked my internet settings and proxy settings. I use no proxy. I use microsoft security essentials for anti virus scanning.



    In terms of firewall, i don't believe that is the problem as the problem is intermittent.



    am I the only person experiencing these issues?



    I should also note that I leave my computer on all the time, and chrome running all the time. I only restart chrome when the 1password plugin stops working. restarting chrome seems to solve the problem usually.

    I'm sorry that you are still having some trouble.



    Can you try the Ctrl+\ shortcut with the extension in any of the other browsers? Does the problem exist only in Chrome?



    Also, can you try setting a different keyboard shortcut in 1Password's preferences to see whether that makes a difference?

    so this morning the extension stopped working again. I tested in FF and it also did not work in FF and showed the little red exclamation mark on the icon in FF.



    I tested in IE and it did work though. Then i launched 1password and restarted the helper, but still the extension would not work in Chrome of FF.



    I then tried changing the keyboard shortcut and the extension worked in Chrome, but still not in FF. I restarted FF to be sure but still the extension did not work.



    Hope that helps?



    Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

    I've seen others experience some trouble with the Helper's connection to the extensions, but this is the only case I am aware of which has not been resolved by following all the steps in the troubleshooting guide. If we crack this case, I will probably add the solution we uncover to the guide...!



    To help us track down the issue, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report? If you have an email client installed, you can send the report more easily by selecting [b]Help > Diagnostics Report > E-mail to Agile[/b]. If you don't have a desktop email client, you can select [b]Help > Diagnostics Report > Export to File[/b]. Then open your webmail, create a new message to support AT agilebits.com, and just upload the exported file as an attachment to that message.



    Please include a link to this thread in your email message so that we can "connect the dots."
  • I just emailed you a diagnosis report as requested.



    FYI I rebooted my computer this morning, then 1password requested to do its updates which i allowed. it upgraded to 1.0.9.285 and upgraded chrome plugin to 3.9.1.39101



    After it did its updates, I launched chrome and again the shortcut is not working. Agile1pAgent.exe is running on my system.



    I restarted the 1password helper in 1password and then the shortcut worked again in chrome.
