Need Help - new windows laptop

Hello!

I love 1Password - been using it for a couple years now. However, my MacBook recently died and rather than buying another MacBook I decided to purchase a Windows 7 laptop.

Well - I bought the Windows version of 1Password and installed and now I can't figure out for the life of me how to load my existing info. into the new computer.

My MacBook is completely dead, so I can't get any information off there at all.

I do have 1Password on my iPhone, iPad and iPod, so perhaps I can export the information from one of those devices and then import back into the Windows laptop??

I just can't figure it out for the life of me - tried messing with the DropBox syncing but that doesn't want to work for me (it says it can't find the file and I need to sync my computer - well I can't because it's broken!!).

I'm hoping this is just my ignorance - can anyone help me out???

Thanks!

  • Welcome to the forum!

If you were using Dropbox to sync your 1Password data among your Mac, iPad, and iPad, then you're all set—just install Dropbox on your PC, wait for it to finish copying all your data from your private Dropbox web site to your PC, and install 1Password for Windows. It'll find the 1Password data folder and automatically ask whether you want to use it. Your master password will be the same as it was for 1Password for Mac.

If you weren't using Dropbox, though—never mind explaining why not!—you'll need to carefully follow the instructions in What if all my 1Password data is already on my iOS device? in the FAQ section of the user's guide.

  • Awesome!! Thanks for the prompt reply, DBrown! I will try this method ASAP - seems easy enough that even I might be able to get this to work! <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
