Since the new Chrome Extension...

Since the new Chrome Extension I haven't been able to use Ctrl + \ to log in to http://www.lqarena.com/index.php, but prior to that this was fine. I'm on 1password version 1.0.9.268, Win7 x64 SP1, Chrome 16.0.912.75. If I open 1password app and copy the username and password into their respective fields on the site I can log in fine. If I hit Ctrl + \ I get a message that says "You have specified an incorrect or inactive username or invalid password." Any help would be appreciated. I've tried copying my username and password into notepad, then deleting it out of 1password, and pasting into the website and saving a new entry in 1password. However, that doesn't seem to help. What else should I try?

Thanks,

~Adam

  • Hi, Adam.

I've confirmed that 1Password offers to save a Login item at that URL and that it will fill the username field with the saved username, but it will not fill the password field with the correctly saved password.

I tried editing the saved Login and setting the Auto-Type option (so that 1Password always uses auto-type to fill the form), but that had the same result: the username field was filled but not the password field.

Finally, I tried the Auto-Type tool on the 1Password toolbar, and it worked as described in the user's guide.

I'll mention this to the developer, in case there's anything we can do to improve the standard method for this site. In the meantime, at least you can use the Auto-Type tool.

Thanks for your patience, Adam, and for bringing this site to our attention!

Please remember this setting is for Internet Explorer and Firefox only. It does not work for our Chrome extension.

I'm sorry that you're having this problem. Please try saving a new login manually for this specific URL rather than the home page of the site:

    http://lqarena.com/login.php

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the "+" button in the upper right hand corner.

    3. Change the title and make any notes (if desired).

    4. Click the Save button in the upper right hand corner.

Using the above technique I was able to save and fill a sample login at:

    http://lqarena.com/login.php

Manually saving a login can be useful for logins that are either problematic to begin with or were once working but have since stopped. Doing this allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page. Login pages often change as websites are updated and this can be a necessary but very useful tip. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

If you are still having trouble — and I suspect you will be — please disable autosubmit for that Login. That should resolve the issue.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.
