Can I rename the application bundle?

Is it okay to rename 1Password to 1Password 3.9.2 and then rename 1PasswordBeta to 1Password?
The beta's perfect, right? You guys are good. There won't be any need to backtrack. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I'll defer to Roustem, but I would strongly recommend not renaming the beta builds. The App Store is looking for 1Password.app when it checks for updates, and I'm not sure what kind of problems this could cause especially factoring in delta updates. Presumably, there are safeguards to prevent problems in that area, but… <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Also, while we appreciate your confidence, no beta is perfect. (That's what makes them special, right?) <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> You really should keep the current stable build at hand. This can also come in handy when reporting issues. We may need you to check if you can reproduce an issue you are reporting in both the stable and beta builds to help track it down.Flag 0 -
I preserved the current "stable" version as 1Password 3.9.2; so I can compare, if the need arises. In fact, I still have 1Password 3.8.5. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emoticon-0136-giggle.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(giggle)' /> After the rename, I ran App Store to see if it still thought I had 1Password installed, and it did. I wonder why it thinks that. In any event, Time Machine can take me back to whatever point in the past I might need to go to if disaster strikes. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />Flag 0

Is there a good way to check? This version doesn't update like the 3.8.x version did. Is there a method to be notified of updates like RSS feed, twitter account, etc, without having to watch the entire forum of new posts?

I created an Apple Automator script that I run to do my updating of the betas.Flag 0 -

Actually, watching the forum may not be sufficient. Yesterday, there were release notes for version .076, but I just installed version .078, which I have seen no mention of. Perhaps it's best to just install the latest version at the start of each day. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wasntme.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(wasntme)' />Flag 0 -
All of this is still manual for us, we'll see if there's a better way to do this.
The recent updates are all the same, they're about updating the translations that have been corrected by our users recently and this'll continue until we finish all the translations.Flag 0 -
That was what I was getting at with my post above. It doesn't really matter what you call the beta, but it just seems simpler if one avoids calling it "1Password.app" for this reason. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0
