Import passwords from Firefox

<div class="IPBDescription">How to transfer the dataset of the Firefox password manager?</div>Hello,

I'very fascinated by 1password for Win the integration in Firefox is quite good.

But there is something I miss: how to import all the already saved passwords form

the Firefox internal Password Manager to 1password? Must I do a singel logon for

every side so that 1pasword chatched it?

Thanks,

  • 1Password for Windows currently imports data in 1Password Interchange Format, delimited text, and Roboform's "print to HTML" format.

It may be that additional import formats, such as browser-saved login-password pairs, are included in future versions, but there's no information available about whether or when such features might be added.

I'm sorry not to have a more satisfying answer for you, basti23.

Hi basti_23, as of 1.0.0.124 you can import Firefox passwords by doing the following:

Open Firefox and have it install this extension: https://addons.mozil...fox/addon/2848/
Restart Firefox, go to Tools > Options and then Security tab in the Options window
Click "Import/Export Passwords”
Make sure the "Obfuscate Usernames/Passwords" is unchecked
Press Export Passwords
In the Save as type field, choose Password Export (.csv), you can save it anywhere you want, just remember the location
Now open 1Password for Windows, Unlock and go to File > Import.. and select the csv file that you just exported and edited
Match the following fields as shown in this screenshot:

Press Okay and then Press No for the first Login you see, where it shows hostname, username and password on the list. After that, press "Yes" or "Yes to All" to import all of the logins
Make sure after importing the password, you securely delete the exported csv file as it contain the details in clear text
Let me know how it works out for you.

    10) Press Yes or Okay to have it imported into 1Password

    11) Make sure after importing the password, you securely delete the exported csv file as it contain the details in clear text
Note that, after step 10, you'll be asked whether to import the first record, which contains the column names. Click the No button at that prompt, but then click the Yes to All button on the next prompt. ("Yes to All" really means "Yes, import all remaining records, from this one through the end of the file.")

Don't worry, though: If you accidentally click Yes or Yes to All at the first prompt, you can just delete the Login with the name "hostname."

Make sure the "Encrypted Usernames/Passwords" is unchecked
In Firefox 3.6.11 for windows this is actually labeled "Obfuscate Usernames/Passwords"
