1Password user interface re-locking constantly [Air Display app is most likely cause]

Uninstalled and/or disabled many screen related apps but nothing helped so far.
For the time being the problem (for me) is solved by unchecking the 3 checkboxes telling 1P when to auto lock.
Additional:
I think the issue is related to this one, described in http://cnet.co/qnuURL

Ooh, this will explain a lot of issues.
Thank you so much for the link!Flag 0 -

Just a quick update on my issue....
After removing Air Display I've had a much better Lion experience all round including of course with 1Password.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for updating the thread. I'm very happy to hear that your Lion and 1Password experience is much better!
I hope everything continues to go well, but, if not, you know where we are!
Cheers!

@Hans L: Thanks. I have this issue too. Will, look into it, when I'm back home. Actually Lion is a disaster on my 2010 MacBook Pro. Many incompatiblities. As I need the machine for work I think I should have waited for the first update. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
Another thing that is worse are those spaces. Who really needs this? Now the Dashboard has this gray backgroung instead of lying on the desktop. Usually I used the claculator for calculations in InDesign and I need to see the numbers (sometimes the measures are really complex). *grrrr*
Little Snitch is runnig on my system. And I really don't want to turn it off.Flag 0 -
Hello,
Is this maybe the reason that also apple distributes developer versions, just to prevent situations like this? Especially as Password management is more critical than having a gadget working?Flag 0 -
Thanks everyone for the help - AirDisplay was definitely the culprit for me.

Few updates for those that are having this issue:
1) I was having the same problem with 1Password auto shutting
2) I also was having the problem spelled out here - http://cnet.co/qnuURL - with random screen savers starting at varoius times
3) The other quirk I noticed was that Adium was showing my status as "Idle" even those I had selected online.
As I was trying to fix it, other problems with 1Password were noticeable - it wouldn't let me log on to a site, the 1Password toolbar was missing - regardless of what I tried to do with reinstalling and playign with firefox profiles.
I then uninstalled AirDisplay by running the script. I also upgraded my Firefox from 4 to 5.
After that, everything seems to be working properly -- Firefox, 1Password, Adium -- all working properly.
Weird... But glad I'm back in business.Flag 0 -
Welcome to the forums, Jaem. I'm sorry that you are having this problem. If you are using Air Display or DisplayPad, you might try uninstalling the application(s) to see if the problem is resolved. I merged your post with this thread so you can read the additional information above.
Please let me know how it goes.Flag 0 -
I'm running lion 10.7.1 on a 2010 mid MacBook Pro. I started running into these lock up issues this morning after updating to the latest version of 1password. I do not have Air Display I had DisplayPad on my iPad but had not yet set it up on my Mac. I have also been experiencing the random screen savor issue. I have done the following, however I have had no luck solving the issue.

I followed the instructions here to remove the screen saver plist. http://cnet.co/qnuURL.

Re-started after.

Went to system pref screen Savor, made sure I had no hot corners set and turned off the screen savor.

Removed DisplayPad from my iPad, restarted the iPad.

Did a spotlight search for DisplayPad on my Mac, found nothing.
The only way I stop the lock up from happening is by going to 1password pref, and turning off Autolock. Which of course is not very safe. This feels like a new bug in 1password more then a Lion issue, considering the version before worked just fine.Flag 0 -
Welcome to the forums, agileTest! And thank you for sharing your experiences so far.

Which Autolock options did you disable? The AirDisplay issue can be avoided by just disabling the "Lock when screensaver is activated" preference. If you need to disable the inactivity preference to get things to work, then it could be our bug as we recently changed this code.Flag 0 -
I have to disable the Auto-Lock after XXX minutes of computer inactivity, to keep 1password from locking every few seconds. If I leave that checked, even though I have the Lock when sleeping and Lock when screen saver is activated un-checked, 1password locks up every few seconds. I do not have AirDisplay or DisplayPad on this Mac.
Thanks for the Welcome, I have been a customer for many years, love 1 password.Flag 0 -
Hey rf,
Thanks for the updated information. Have you updated to our latest release, v3.8.1? If so, do you still experience the same problem?
Please let us know if you are running our latest version and are still seeing the issue. As Dave mentioned, there were some recent changes to the code, and we want to be sure we know exactly which version you are running before we start digging into the internals.
Cheers!

In that I do not have Air Display installed on my MacBook Pro, that was not the problem. One user suggested disabling the "auto-lock" feature. That did the trick for me. No more auto-locking a few seconds after unlocking. To test the fix, I re-enabled the auto-lock feature and, sure enough, 1Password locked almost immediately.Flag 0
What if you enable the auto-lock timer and uncheck the box for 'lock when screen-saver is activated', does that also fix the issue?

Same problem as rfwilkins with version 3.8.1 (build 31115) on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.7.1 and Air Display.

The issue is with a video driver on OS X Lion. For some reasons, keeping Air Display installed or other apps that use those video drivers will force 1Password to instantly lock.
Have you already try the other solutions as suggested in this thread such as unchecking 'lock when screensaver is activated' in 1Password's Preferences > Security ?
Please let me know how it turns out.Flag 0 -
Just a note, I had the same problem. Uninstalling Air Display (using the script in Applications->Utilities->Uninstall Air Display), fixed the 1Password problem. Air Display seems to be indicating it is an apple driver issue that occurs on certain late model macs. FYI.Flag 0

Hello bigreddog,
Thanks for updating the thread with your fix.
Air Display has had conflicts with Lion, and the Air Display developers are aware of the issue. I hope that one day soon, those two systems will play nice together.
Cheers!

I have version 3.8.1
If I enable AutoLock (19 minutes), with Lock when sleeping and Lock when screen saver is activated UN-Checked. 1 password still auto locks after about 3-8 seconds.
