Thanks for all of that, but the link you sent me was for 3.6.5.BETA-23. Are you sure you're running BETA-30? Are you testing these links as well?

    hi jaydisc,

Looks like the link was broken, let's try again: http://cdn.agilebits.com/dist/1P/ext/1Password-3.6.5.BETA-30.safariextz

Hope that one works a little better. Apparently, we're pumping out the updates faster than we can update the links!

That's much better. However, problem still exists.

Also, which I suspect you now realize, that update is not being automatically discovered by Safari or 1P either.

    jaydisc,

Thanks for the update. I'm glad the update link worked...at least we got that part accomplished.

Thanks to your feedback, and others, we are aware that some users are experiencing the update issue, and we are investigating it now.

Also, although the topic issue was not resolved, we will continue to look for a solution.

Thanks again for updating the thread. I hope we resolve both of your recent issues soon. (i.e., topic title and extension update issue)

    Brandt

    P.S.

The link I provided is for the BETA-30 only. When our next update is pushed, if you aren't auto updated via Safari, please reply back and we'll figure out a way to get you there.

One way to keep track of where we are in the update process is bookmark the following link and check it occasionally to make sure you are running the latest version. It also provides a list of fixes that were implemented per update. With the furious paces of updates, I refer to it often, since a question posted an hour before, may already be fixed.

Sorry for the frustration. The first couple of weeks after the intro of a new OS are usually crazy. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Here's the link: Safari 5.1 Extension Release Notes

I'm using ß 3.6.5 of the Safari extension and would like to echo others' complaints:

1Password always requires unlock the first time a browser is open

1Password always asks to save a password (even if it's already saved)
Hoping you guys can fix these two issues soon!

    Hey Zach,

Please read above about disabling Safari's AutoFill. That should resolve the latter issue.

The former is a known issue as well.

Both are explained in the User Guide.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

    Cheers,
  • Used to use 1password just fine. Upgraded Safari. Now everytime I get into a website and a password is filled in (by the computer, not by 1password), it asks to save the information again and again. What is going on? How can I stop it?
  • I am having the same issue. It seems like a lot of the passwords and or login information did not transfer seamlessly to the new version...

    Hey folks,

I merged your posts with the relevant thread for this. Please disable Safari's AutoFill as discussed above and in the User Guide and let me know if you are still having trouble. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I see another update was released as was touted here:

    http://blog.agilebits.com/2011/07/its-here/

As I did not have the Extension installed in Safari, I ran 1Password's software update, and then installed the Extension from 1P's prefs. The first thing that surprised me was it install 3.70b2. However, the "Include Beta Versions" checkbox in 1Password was certainly not checked. Do beta Safari Extensions not respect this setting?

And now for the meat of the post.... this issue is still not resolved. Now, I understand the advice, and workaround (it was me that first identified it in this thread). However, due to my needs, I'd rather not use 1Password over not using the OS X Keychain. So, I've come up with what I perceive would be a great workaround:

Let me set 1Password to not ask about storing new passwords

This would mean I can continue to use Safari as I want. I can even continue to use 1P to populate existing passwords and credit card info. Regardless of this specific situation, this seems to be a worthy option anyway, doesn't it? Perhaps it's already there?

OK. Take 2. This time I turned on Beta Updates, updated 1P, reinstalled the extension, and got 3.7beta5 in the Safari.

And while the original problem still exists, you have already implemented my feature request! I unchecked "Ask to save new logins" and was not prompted. Yay!

While this means I'm not actively using 1P to store new passwords, but it means I can at least continue to use everything previous stored in 1P until you guys hopefully get around to playing nicer with Safari's AutoFill.

    Thank you!
  • This is annoying, I prefer to have both on because, frankly, sometimes letting Safari autofill is much easier and faster. As far as I know there is no key command to have 1PW enter your identity info, whereas Safari does. I always try the Safari autofill key command first, if that doesn't work, then I have 1PW enter the info. If you could add a key command to autofill info, then I could turn off Safari's autofill, but until then, it's just too slow to mouse over to select 1PW to enter my ID info. Really hoping all these bugs will be sorted out soon, it's costing me additional time every day with these issues.

There's always been a key command to autofill info... Command-Option-\. Is that what you're looking for?

We are working hard to resolve the issues with autosave and Safari's AutoFill, but the only issue at the moment is with Safari's AutoFill of user names and passwords. You should not have any trouble leaving "Using info from my Address Book card" enabled.

That said, it is not a single key combination, but you can pull up the 1Password Safari extension using the Option-Command-\ keyboard shortcut and then press Tab twice to navigate to the Identities section. From there you can press Return to fill an Identity (or use the arrow keys to select a different one before pressing Return).

I hope that helps a bit while we continue to improve in this area.

Yay "back at you"! You're very welcome, and I'm glad to hear the latest extension version helped you out.

Something you mentioned that we didn't already respond to in this thread is the fact that you don't have beta versions selected in the 1Password application preferences, yet you see a beta Safari extension. We have been having a blast getting the new extension up-to-speed, but what you're seeing is the very first set of releases. There hasn't been an official "stable" version yet, as we continue to tweak it (and the application) to perform properly together. It is our plan that when we do have a "stable" version of the extension available that we won't put you into beta mode without you asking. But for now, it's beta or nothing, and with Safari 5.1 front and center having the beta installed (versus nothing) is a huge win for everyone that loves 1Password.
