We just released 1Password 3.7.0. Please update to that and then try this:

Open Safari

Uninstall the 1Password extension

Quit Safari using Option-Command-Q to "Quit and Discard Windows"

Open and unlock 1Password.app

Install the Safari extension (Preferences > Browsers)
If you are still having trouble, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report? To generate the report from 1Password on your Mac, open 1Password and select Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report. Then attach the entire file to an email to support@agilebits.com.
Please include a link to this thread in order that we might more quickly "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

I think I may have found a solution to this problem. I was trying a completely clean install with no existing password data, and kept getting the error when I'd try to save a login for a website. What ended up fixing it (I think) was creating a single password entry in 1Password by hand (in my case for reddit). After that, everything worked as expected, including saving new passwords.Flag 0

Interesting! Thanks for the feedback.Flag 0 -
Didn't help. Same issue.Flag 0

Thanks for sending in your Diagnostics Report, TheGeekGuy. It looks like everything is working well, but you don't have any data in 1Password. Try adding a Login item from the main 1Password application (File > New Item > New Login) as Matt recommended and then try reinstalling the extension. Your DR shows zero items in your data file, so it looks like you have not yet tried doing that.
Please let me know if that helps.Flag 0 -

That fixed it, but that is a bizarre behavior.Flag 0 -

Glad to hear that fixed it, thank you for the update. You're absolutely right, it's not just bizarre but very confusing. 1Password should handle this situation much more gracefully and we will work to improve the experience in a future update.Flag 0 -
Dear all,
I did install the newest version of 1password (3.7.2), and i did remove the 1password extension. I did quit safari with command-option-Q. I reinstalled the latest version of the 1P extension.
But when I'm using the 1P button in safari, I get still the same result: "Data not available".
I tried also to uninstall and reinstall everything but the problem stays.
I have a dutch (nederlands) version of Apple lion.
I tried everything what was mentioned in earlier messages.
Best regards

Joe,
I hate to sounds like a broken record, but this time should be the last time. We've just pushed out a new Beta update today that should, once and for all, resolve the issues with the 'Data Unavailable' messages.
To get this new update please go to 1Password > Preferences > Updates and check 'Include Beta Versions' and then click 'Check Now' to get our latest 3.7.5.Beta-3 update.
Once that's done, please update the Safari extension to the latest version, 3.7 b13, by performing a manual update within Safari > Preferences > Extensions as we detail at the bottom of this guide:
http://help.agilebits.com/1Password3/safari_5.1_install_update.html
With some of the new changes in the update, there are few extra steps to follow. First of all, please go to Help > Troubleshooting > Restart Agent within 1Password and finally restart Safari, using Command + Option + Q to ensure the extension is properly reloaded.
That should get things up and running for you, please do let me know how it turns out.Flag 0 -
