• Welcome to the forum, 1pB0b!

When you get a fault like this, does 1Password present a dialog box with an offer to send us an error report?
  • No. Nothing from 1Password. Just a dialog saying IE has crashed.
  • So, is IE actually crashing (stops working or disappears, and you have to relaunch it) or is it just that these messages show up in the Application log?
  • IE is actually crashing.

When it crashes, a windows (not 1p) dialog appears (I'll try and screenshot it next time, but it's the standard “Internet Explorer encountered a problem and needs to close” dialog).

When it crashes, the Application event log contains entries like the ones I originally supplied.

I have to relaunch IE manually.
  • Here goes.

    Screenshots attached.

    Relevant log entries:

  • 1pBOb, I'm asking the developer whether he has any ideas about what might be going on.
  • Please try this: In Internet Explorer, disable all extensions and add-ons except the 1Password extension; then enable one extension at a time until you see the problem again.

That will help us pin it down to a conflict with a particular extension, so we can see whether there's any solution.

Please let us know how it goes, 1pBOb!
  • Just had a crash.

Attached image shows that ONLY the 1password extenstions were loaded at the time.

    The windows error report is:

Unfortunately, we cannot seem to reproduce this problem
  • Lucky me, eh!

I'll drop back to the released version of 1password, then.

Are you saying there is an old build that does not seem to have this problem?

I am not frequently use IE, but I hope that this problem always been present. Just I never looked into IE crash details (my common browser is Chrome), but seen craches before.

There is no A/V software at all! Windows 7 SP1 x64 with all Windows updates installed. I am currently on 1P build 214. But build 211 and 213 are the same.
  • Hey there, EIKA! Thanks for reporting this. Could you please try the latest version and see if you are still seeing this problem? Please let me know. I look forward to hearing back from you. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • I am always run on the latest version. But I will launch IE and try more.
  • EIKA, note that 1.0.8.215 is newer than the version shown in that log file snippet.

1pB0b, please let us know if you can answer Stefan's question, above (http://forum.agilebits.com/index.php?/topic/6616-ie-crash-at-exit-108beta-213/page__view__findpost__p__41444).

I know. But I am always run on current version. Because I set 1P for every day updatae checking including betas.

In bulid 215 you have changed someting related with IE extension crash?
  • Hi, EIKA. I mentioned it only because you wrote that you always run the current version, but the report showed you were using an older version.

Remember that you have to quit and relaunch 1Password to make it decide whether it's time to check for updates, or choose the Help > Check for New Version command, or click the Check Now button on the Updates tab of 1Password preferences.

    I hope that helps.

Could you tell us what you were doing at the time of the [s]murder[/s] crash? Is the 1Password add-on being actively used, and is it a specific function (i.e. login filling, saving, etc.) that causes the crash? Please let me know any other details you think might be relevant so that we can try to find the problem.
  • Just pressing close [X] button. Nothing else.
  • The same thing happens to me when I exit IE 9.
  • Welcome to the forum, knersus!

I'm sorry that we still haven't been able to reproduce the problem, here, in either IE 8 or IE 9.

It's reason why you will no investigate?
  • EIKA, as we've tried to explain, it's very hard to investigate a problem we cannot observe.

The developer is aware of this thread. I assume he's doing/done all he can to figure out what's happening.

I'm sorry not to have a more satisfying answer for you, yet.
  • You can add some debug mode and ask beta testers to pay attention to this problem. I will be glad to test.
