    Really...is that necessary?

    p.s.

To agile folks...is the above level of angst a prerequisite to getting the title of "Advanced Member?" Just curious <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Maybe it is necessary. with all the crap like---" I am not sure how to answer your question without sounding snarky, Mangoes... <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

There just isn't any way to say for certain. When Apple approves our submission, the Mac App Store will offer you the update. I am sorry I do not have a better answer for you at this time."----how can you say that knowing that no update have been submitted.
  • The question was "when?" and the answer has already been given numerous times: When it is ready. We don't target releases for a specific date and time; we release them when they are ready, and we are working hard to do just that.

The Doctor hits pretty close to reality: We are working on the MAS version while at the same time making additions and fixes to the extensions and the 'website version' of 1Password -- which both benefit the MAS version in the long run.

Depending on where you sit, frequent updates are either a nuisance or an exciting indication that 'things are happening'. I can definitely appreciate that it may feel like there is little being done to address your concerns without something tangible, but we are on the case and you will see the fruits of our labours as soon as possible. It hasn't quite been a month even. Please be patient.

The whole situation was handled pathetically. The MAS version should not even had been until you had a very good working version of 4. Then offered it at a discounted price. What the rush was to get into the MAS store is anyones guess. You pressure people into buying. "buy now or pay more than double latter" Now you leave them all out in the cold by continuing work on the non and not on the MAS. the Mas version needs some much needed bug fixes asap, it's been almost a month and nothing while the non has seem more than one update. Agile can't tell us if these issues with the MAS version have been addressed or will be. All we here is "WHEN IT"S READY" Pathetic.

WHY HASN"T THE MAS VERSION BEEN UPDATED YET?

Maybe they did it for the money?

What will be interesting is when 4 comes out will it be offered at a discount to existing customers and in particular to those who stayed on 3.8. If 4 comes out at $19.99 there will be a lot of 3.9 MAS customers seriously ticked.

Actually if 4 comes out at less than the current MAS price, $49.99 IIRC, there will be a lot of refund requests by people who bought at that price.

Work is being done every day on the MAS branch (3.9). Since the approval process is of an unknown duration, we want to make sure we make the update as good as possible before we submit. I guess I see the difference between the 3.8 and 3.9 branches as akin to winning the lottery and taking monthly payments versus a lump sum. Everyone "hit the jackpot", but the goods are being distributed in different ways. MAS customers will get larger windfalls at a time rather than smaller, incremental ones.

Regarding a future sale, I certainly can't promise anything, but we have traditionally offered very good discounts at the time of a new major release. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
  • Stop with all the rubbish, the MAS is no good for an application like this. Stop giving us rubbish responses and fix the issues with far far long long delays.

It is clear that continuing this conversation is no longer productive. Thank you everyone who shared their opinion.
