Try a search for Opera; 1P support for it has been frequently and thoroughly asked/discussed.Flag 0

Will or is there a version of 1 Password for Opera on the MAC?
Hi, Gasport. As sjk mentioned, we've had discussions about Opera before, and discovered that we could not support it at the time. However, we are aware of Opera's recent support for extensions in the just-released Opera 11 and will consider our options for development there in the future. Our current focus is on the Chrome extension, however.
Thanks for the feedback!Flag 0 -

I'd like to add my request too to the long list of those of us 1Password users waiting for an Opera extension. In the meantime I am unfortunately having to go back to using LastPass in Opera, and I'd rather use just 1Password.
Thank you.

Hi 1pwuser, welcome to the forums, I'm just sorry your first post wasn't a happier one.
I'm sorry to hear you're having to use both 1Password and LastPass right now, we're certainly looking into our options for Opera 11 support but as mentioned earlier we don't have any timeframes that we can share right now.
That doesn't, by the way, mean that we don't want to support Opera 11, in an ideal world we'd support every browser we could, but we do have fairly limited resources and our developers do need to sleep every now and then so we do need to make sure we don't take on too much at once, the last thing we want is to produce a sub-standard product because we've rushed something or over-burdened our team.
Thanks for your vote though, it has been counted <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />Flag 0 -
Here's my vote for Opera also. Now that OmniWeb is no longer actively in development, Opera is the only web browser that can deliver that feature experience. Similarly, 1Password is the product clearly want to use with Opera, not LastPass.
(and, I think your product has been successful enough, and has been adopted enough, that it is reasonable to expect Agile can make commitments to delivery schedules...it shouldn't be a few guys in a garage anymore...).Flag 0 -
Hi JBB,
It is a reasonable expectation but it’s not how things work in the industry. Even Apple with $60B in cash don’t follow any schedules. We can make a reasonable guess that they’ll release iPhone 5 this summer by looking at their history but they never commit to any official schedules. Most companies have internal goals and they do their best to get there. Programmers, especially our programmers at Agile, are not machines, they are humans and each one is unique in how they code. Tell them to finish something by a specific timeframe is never going to work, you'll end up getting a product that was rushed out and it'll have bugs, which makes it worse for everybody including the customers, programmers and the customer service team.
Hiring or throwing money at more programmers does not improve things automatically, it takes a lot of time to train them which takes time away from developing the actual products, babysitting them while they code and making sure that they do not mess up the quality of your code is time-consuming as well. Even programmers with 20-30 years worth of programming skills needs to be trained, babysit and to get into a "rhythm" with the established programmers in the company.
We never say never to anything and anything is possible with our products. All we ask is patience while we work on it.Flag 0 -
Another vote here for an Opera extension! Opera 11 is just a massively underrated browser. I have used every single browser available on OSX and my absolute favorite is Opera 11 (with Safari 5 and Chromium in second and third). Opera 11 is fast, slick, stable, highly customizable, and offers a high quality browsing experience. It is such a tragedy that there is no 1password extension for a such a quality browser. I often wonder why Opera is so underrated and I have come to the conclusion that most people just don't know about it... it just isn't marketed enough. But it is definitely a "sleeper hit" in the browser world.Flag 0

Hi jungleman789, your vote has been added, you've earned +50 'Feature Voting Points'.... oh wait this isn't an RPG, it's the 1Password forums <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
I've never personally used Opera myself, but I know lots of people who love it, especially Opera 11. I really should give it a try and see what it has to offer.
As we've said, we're not by any means closing the door on Opera support, but we don't have a timeframe for when it will be available. One thing we'll need to do is to look at the extensions API provided by Opera and look to see if it can provide all the functionality we need, as not all APIs are created equal (A good example of this being Google Chrome, where the API has taken time to evolve to meet our needs).

I plan to, after all I have pretty much every other major browser on my system right now <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />Flag 0 -
Another quite desperate request for an Opera extension! I have switched at least four times from Safari to Opera - and back due to lack of 1PW support. When will the best password manager and the best browser finally come together? <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Thanks!Flag 0

Hi macotee,
Honestly, we don't have a timeframe for Opera support within 1Password yet, but we're certainly not closing the door on this. Once we know more, we'll be sure to post here so everyone can enjoy the news.
Sorry I don't have a better answer to give you

Hi gobeau,
Thanks for your vote for Opera support within 1Password, it's great to hear you're so passionate to see the two combined. I've merged your post with the larger thread so everyone can see.
Please do take a look through some of the posts from myself and other team members, we're not saying 'no' to Opera support, but at the moment it's not something we have planned for the near future.
Thanks,
