Hey, Bruce! I am sorry to hear of your tribulations.
You didn't mention whether you were running Safari 5.1 on Snow Leopard or Lion.
Could you please try following the instructions in my earlier post to see if this helps? I finally got to install the 1P button in the safari 5.1 toolbar (running Lion), no way to have the nice 1P icon in the menu, why?
however there is still something strange happening: after installing extension I logged yesterday into a bank site, some https://hbnet.xxxx, the saved login site was set as https://hbnet02.xxxx, which used normally to work up until the old version of password. I went into 1P app, modified the login web site, saved, worked
this morning, after having rebooted, went into the same bank, web site in 1P app was right (https://hbnet.xxx), while clicking on the 1P button, password, all logins, the web site was still set to https://hbnet02.xxxx, just as either it wasn't reading the right data or ??? I'm positive I rebooted my mac. 1P data are hold on dropbox.
ThanksFlag 0 -
Thing are going a lot better: just downloaded the latest version, (came up while I was typing the previous post), seems to be reasonably stable, got the right data.
still don't see the icon in the menu bar, and a few websites have to be changed to read exactly as in the access (somehow it seems that previously you were using a different approach in matching web site and saved logins, may be less strict)

Hi brenty,
I have also this issue and I`m not sure if the problem is in http://... Because I use one login to access https://admin.domain.tld and https://webmail.domain.tld. In 1pass the form is stored with url https://admin... and Safari 5.1 extension is not able to detect this correctly, but with extension for Chrome and FireFox is everything ok. It seems to me that the extension in Safari is trying to do exact match of url and in Chrome and FF partially or detecting only the main domain and not subdomains.
Also I tried to update to latest 1pass beta because of this issue and after that it seems that the cmd+\ shortcut is not working correctly and redirects me to the extensions install page, even the toolbar button works.

Hey there, saamJB! Welcome to the forums!
This is a known issue, I believe. If I understand you correctly, it sounds like the Login items do not have the protocol in the URL. Please try adding "http://" (without the quotes) at the beginning of the location field in one of these Login items to see if that helps. Safari doesn't like that at all, so we will probably have to have 1Password append this automatically in the future.
If you are still having trouble, could you tell me which sites they are so I can test it myself?

I haven't yet been able to install the 1Password extension in Safari 5.1, the Safari window pop-up for confirming the installation flashes up briefly and disappears and Safari locks up, trying to load the 1Password page. Have tried turning off various security settings, cleared caches, logged out, restarted. Has anyone got a solution to this please? Thanks Phil KeenFlag 0

1Password Safari extension not fully working in Lion.
FireFox extension works as expected so I have had to default to Firefox browser until the issue is resolved.
Safari shows the 1Password button in the toolbar and this appears to work but there is no 1Password context menu on any webpage.
I've removed the 1Password extension from Safari (p.s. why is it 3.6.5.BETA-23? and why does it not have a 1Password icon? and then re-installed the extension from the 1Password preferences/browsers tab. This adds the 1Password button back to the Safari toolbar but there is no change in the 1Password browser tab to show it's installed (i.e. the 'Install Safari Extension' button is still shown and Safari is not listed in the Advanced section) and of course there is still no 1Password context menu on any webpage.
I've spent ages today chasing my backside and trawling this forum - this issue has hurt my day. Hopefully someone is on the case but I can't help agreeing with a previous posting that maybe this could all have been avoided.
Awesome product it was!Flag 0 -
such a disappointing product. cannot even stand a single OS updateFlag 0

I am having trouble saving login information at the home depot website. First, 1Password doesn't automatically ask you to save the login info. Second, when I try to manually save it, nothing happens. I clicked on the "Save Login" button, and the window disappears, but the information was not saved.Flag 0

After installing the 3.6.5-Beta23 Extension for Safari 5.1 on Lion, the keyboard shortcuts no longer worked. The initial install after upgrading to Lion worked fine, but now using any 1PW keyboard shortcut redirects the browser to the 1Password Extension Setup page, even though the toolbars button works correctly.Flag 0

The keyboard shortcut works again in beta25, but the issue with domain match in url is still there.

I don't know about 10.7, but on 10.6.8 I went back to Safari 5.0.5 and everything works correctly again. SF 5.1 has some minor problems on 10.6.8. Logins for some web sites appear but do not work. Logins for other web sites simply do not appear in the drop down. You have to go to the all list. However, they work. It is the ones that don't work that are most frustrating.Flag 0

I've been having the same issues as others, and tried to re-install the 1Password extension. The frustrating thing is that the new version of 1Password works on some web sites but not others. I tried changing the web address from https to http but that doesn't appear to have anything to do with the problem. If there's an Agile support person with a Chase.com log in, you may want to try that web site as it is one of the ones that will not respond to the new version of 1Password.Flag 0

I installed Lion today and 1Password hasn't worked since. I can't do a fill from the drop down menu. Thought for a moment I had lost all my passwords but finally got that part figured out.
I have version 6.3.1 build 31057
Never could get the fill function to even come up let alone work.Flag 0 -
Using beta 26 here on Safari 5.1 + Lion, but since beta 25, 1Password does not recognize my previously-saved WebHost Manager logins. The URLs resemble this:
https://<domain name>:2087/
I've tried two different servers (i.e., on two different domains) to which I have WHM access and neither login is recognized by 1Password.Flag 0 -
Could you please try the new Beta release (3.6.5.BETA-3) and see if it fixes this problem? You can do this by going to the 1Password > Preferences window, selecting the Update panel, enable the "Include Beta versions" checkbox, and then click Check Now. Once the update is installed, try again and see if it helps.
Please let me know how it turns out.

Please open Safari on Lion and then press “Command + Alt +Q” to quit Safari without saving its state. It’ll let you start up Safari in a fresh state and 1Password should work better now.
We made improvements to the keyboard shortcut reliability in the latest beta of 1Password 3.6.5 Beta 1. If you’d like to try that, you can do that by opening 1Password and going to the 1Password > Preferences window, selecting the Update panel, enable the "Include Beta versions" checkbox, and then click Check Now. Once the update is installed, try again and see if it helps.

This is related to the auto-submit feature, Chase doesn’t like being bypassed without a keystroke. We’re working on fixing the extension’s ability to read the auto-submit setting for each site. For now, please turn off the auto-submit feature. Open 1Password and go to the 1Password Menu > Preferences > Logins. Uncheck the “Submit automatically after filling a login (auto submit)’. Restart Safari and that should fix the issue on Chase.com

Help, I need Http logins
Do I need to find a different product? Does anyone know of a product that will do this?
Also I can't stop logins from auto submitting where some information has to be entered manually, I can't make it save a login for a new web page,
Can I revert to a version that works? because at the moment it is pretty much useless. Very disappointing, these issues should have been fix months ago.Flag 0 -
So few minutes ago I updated to 3.6.5.BETA-3 (build 31072) and extension version 3.6.5.BETA-27 and I'm still facing the issue with matching domains in saved forms. I'm still not able to login to https://admin.domain.tld when the form is saved with url https://domain.tld. With Chrome and FF is everything o.k.
I was really satisfied with 1Password and its support, but now I'm starting to feel disappointed because nobody even replied to my complaint I posted to this forum and also to customer care.Flag 0 -
Just another post about the changes to 1Password. I have used this program for over a year now and it has worked almost flawlessly until I upgraded to Lion with Safari 5.1. When I open 1P and enter my master password, the screen containing my logins comes up. But when I click any given login, yet another (smaller) screen resembling a vault comes up and asked for my master password again. When I enter it, I get an option to click on the login within the smaller screen and it opens the login page with my ID/password filled, but it does not open the page. I have upgraded to 3.6.5 beta with the most current Safari extension. If I need to enter my master password twice and manually login to a desired secure site, what is the point of 1Password? Why not just enter each login manually and eliminate the "middleman" software?
In all fairness, everything works fine in FF5, but Safari is my preferred browser. Nor do I dare upgrade FF--who knows if 1P would work with more current versions?
So my question is whether the current process I have to go through in Safari is normal or if you are working on a fix to return to the good old days of 1. Open 1P with a master password and 2. Click a login which will fill and open the login page of the desired site. If it is to be a multistep process, or if I need to use alternate browsers for secure logins, then I'm not sure why I would continue to use this product. I am not very computer knowledgeable compared to a lot of the other forum members, and would like a clear idea of just what the final goal of your current upgrades is. Thank you very much.

It's better, but not quite fixed. I have a password that was saved under a different subdomain that 1Password used to offer me when logging into WHM. For example, the login was originally saved under server.example.com but the server's hostname later changed to server2.example.com. While the pre-5.1 extension always offered me the original login for server.example.com when logging into server2.example.com (which I want), the new extension does not.Flag 0 -

Go Back! ...

I appreciate the cheerleading. We cannot go back because none of the existing code can work with Safari 5.1. It must be completely rewritten within the limitations of the official extension API. The only way to go back is to install Snow Leopard and Safari 5.0.Flag 0 -
I am going to lock this thread. This thread has grown way too big and we made quite a few changes since it started.
Please start a new thread to report any new issues.
Also, make sure you are running the very latest versions of 1Password.app and 1Password Safari extension.Flag 0 -
To make sure you are using the very latest version of 1Password and the extension, first update the main application.

To manually update the Safari extension, you will need to temporarily disable automatic updates, otherwise, if you sit tight it will eventually update automatically.

We are releasing many updates lately (sometimes multiple updates per day). Please be sure you are using the latest version before starting a new thread. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
