Mac App Store Installation Issues [SOLVED]

I have a problem with the Mac App Store version.



As I have used 1Password before, I fire up the MAS version, and direct it to my previous 1Pass Keychain file, which was being synced by Dropbox (in the default location: Me>Dropbox>1password.agilekeychain). However, the app then sits on the Dock, doing nothing, displaying no window, and not asking for my master password.



Quitting the application brings me right back to the original splash screen, asking wether or not I had used the app before.



The keychain still works fine on the most recent (not MAS) version of 1Password (3.8.3).

Please open Console.app and see if there are any errors reported by 1Password when this happens.

i have the same problem. i moved my prior 1Password app to the trash and deleted it before downloading the new one from the mac app store.

Interesting to know ASAP if this is a problem related to users with 1Password in combination with Dropbox !

I'm using 1Password 3.9 and 1Password 3.8 synced with the same Dropbox account and am experiencing no issues. Roustem is looking into this, but upon initial inspection it appears that this is an issue with file permissions or an invalid OS X short name (username).

My OSX short name is "jkeenan". Nothing odd there.



I did a reboot to see if that fixed anything. Nope.

I'm having exactly the same issue. I followed the instructions to do the following:



1. Moved 1Password.app to trash



2. Purchased/installed 1Password MAS version



3. I select "I have already used 1Password"



4. I select the location in Dropbox where I have stored it



5. All 1Password windows disappear, though the menu stays active. Clicking on any menu option does nothing.





I also can no longer use the 1PasswordHelper in Safari as it says the process is unavailable.



I also get the following message in Console after all the windows disappear:



<Error>: [39001] Connection invalid

No trying to pile on with the complaints, but I'll add my 2 cents and hope it's helpful: repaired permissions, also rebooted and short name is "Ammon".



I'm using Onyx to repair permissions again, just in case the Disk Utility missed something.



You guys are always so great with updates and fixes that I'm not too worried. Thanks for years of a great product and keep up the good work!!

I too am having this issue and can't use 1password in FF anymore!



I'm super bummed since I had to pay even more money to upgrade to this version and it brakes!



And not happy with the new firefox integration either - doesn't prompt to save passwords, difficult to use, this is not good at all - please fix!

Same problem, but I'm not using DropBox. I have the file in my ~/Library/Application Support/1Password



As soon as I selected my agilekeychain, the window closes and nothing happens. I have errors in console about not able to communicate with 1PasswordHelper.

Having no problems with 3.8.4beta but 3.9 does not connect with keychain in Dropbox or on MacBook Pro when I select "I have already used 1Password." When I check the Preferences there is no link in "Your data stored in"

Update: Running Onyx disk repair did not help.

This is turning into a disaster.



I can't get the MAS version to allow the 1Password keychain to be in a subfolder in my Dropbox.

I can't get my MacBook to work at all.....1Password just refuses to change the datafile location to Dropbox.



Any help guys?

I am not sure if manually starting 1Password Helper would work with XPC and sandboxing.

I am locked out of my 1Password data file in ~/Dropbox/work... not accepting my password. I never saw a splash screen on launch asking if I was a prior user. Should I try reinstalling from the app store?
