1. On the screen that shows the saved information and has the "reveal" button to reveal the password, could you add a "copy" button to copy the password to the clipboard?
Thanks for the suggestions, tks! I really like the "copy" button idea. Kind of like the iOS apps or the Mac application.
2. It would be really nice to have access to folders in the new extension like we did in the old plug-in. I have a lot of logins, and it sometimes hard to remember the names of them to find them with the search in the new extension. It's much easier to find them by navigating my folder hierarchy.
I am also personally a fan of folders, although I don't use them as extensively as some folks do. This has been mentioned a few times, and it is definitely on our radar. Hopefully we can add this in a future release. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -
Let me just chime in with all the others: what I liked, no LOVED about 1Pwd was its stark simplicity. If you didn't want to, you hardly had to know that it was actually there. It just filled your logins in a safe, consistent, non-intrusive manner. Now it wants to be noticed, and for no apparent reason. I hope I can get my 1-key combination login back!Flag 0

Just wanted to give my thoughts on the new Safari integration. I want to let everyone now right now that I haven't had the time or patience to read through this thread, so forgive me if I am repeating something that's already been said.
Jesus, 1Password is one of my must have applications that I can't go through the day without. And after upgrading to Lion and installing the new Safari extension I am seriously considering uninstalling.
1Password was beautiful because it kept out of the way until needed, was lightning fast, and just worked all the time. Now I find that my use of the web has turned in to a 1Password click-fest. All I do is click huge, bloated, 1Pwd dialogs. Gone are the days where I could just hit the esc key and be done with it in a split second. Now I have to move the mouse to the little X in the ugly drop down panel.
My main issues:
- Ugly and bloated. It used to be unintrusive and quick. Now it's all awful animations and big dialogs.
- Works poorly. A lot of times it doesn't ask to save the login when i actually log in, but after 1 hour on the site when I log out. On some sites it doesn't recognize that there is a login stored (which it used to).
- Doesn't respond to keyboard in same way. When asked if you wanted to save the login you could just hit esc, no more. This results in the god awful drop down panel hanging around until I hit the little X.
- Where are the options to "never save" login for a domain?
- If I login manually using the exact same credentials stored in 1Pwd for a site, it still will ask if I want to save the login, even though there is a login with the same exact username/password already stored for that domain.
- The drop down sticks around even after redirects.
- The drop down menu that used to exist was quick. Picking a login from the list was just a click-hover-release action with the mouse (or even faster with hotkeys). Now you have to click and watch the big ugly window "swoosch" in and out. And everything is huge, it feels like I've turned on some support for people with poor eyesight.
The list goes on...
I really appreciate the time and effort that's gone in to an app like 1Pwd, and I applaud you guys for it. But now you've taken one of my favorite apps and made it so bloody annoying that I don't know if I'll make it through the day without uninstalling. My favorite time-saver has become my worst nuisance.
Please, don't continue down this path. Bring back the 1Pwd that we all loved.Flag 0 -
Totally useless, I was really happy with 1Password, but this extension is rubbish and doesn't work properly in the most used browser on this platform. I cannot believe that Agile, a company that was always on top of every update, has the courage to come up with this extension and rendering 1Password totally useless for me. I think you should read this forum and feedback very well and realise that you are on the wrong track.
I cannot believe this has happened, what garbage.
The fact that you are already have i think 3 pages to sell and "explain" the new extension says it all.
I want to register to become a beta tester, obviously you haven't done enough testing to get the feedback or totally ignored the feedback.
What a bummer !Flag 0 -
Sorry the extension really makes daily business a lot more difficult. I want to be able to right click again!!!Flag 0
-
An app that generates and stores passwords should be simple to understand and easy to use.
I'll be frank - I have always found it it difficult to understand exactly what you guys mean - there is so much bloatware, jargon and messy explanation.
Simple example from preferences - 'Fill login keyboard shortcut' versus 'Go & Fill keyboard shortcut' What is the difference in English? What are the advantages?
Or 'enable autosave of logins in Browser' - isn't this just replacing 1password with standard (free) functionality? What are the advantages. ?
I have to uninstall the 1password extension, quit safari lion, open safari, reinstall 1pasword extension at least every day so far.
But the bigger problem is this - your once useful app is a usability mess. It feels like the development team are so intent on making it 'bigger and better' that they lose sight of its purpose.
Please consider that most of us do not want to spend time learning, parsing, understanding - we just want an app that works and is easy!Flag 0 -
I am sorry Agile, the new Safari Extension is a miss. Previous version was integrated with Safari, the new one is not. The work flow is slow as it is too many steps to execute a log in operation. The floating palette is only in the way for the Safari browsing window. Previous you only had to press the button in the Safari window, and all the log in or fill in info was available. So, Agile use your resources in an other way, or I will leave 1Password as my Safari friend. All the best from NorwayFlag 0

Maybe we need to give them time to listen to our feedback and make changes as needed. 1Password is a great application and am so glad I found it, Apple themselves have changed the 'behind the scenes' interface and as a major change to the coding, programmers and developers need time to adjust and recode accordingly to fix any code changes or issues.
I am unsure how much pre-notice any coder or developer got prior to Lion being released to the public to buy and install, or even Safari 5.1 but it would seem that some programmers were caught out or tried to code to what they felt was needed and in some cases adjustments and updates are needed. I have (I know) myself been checking most the week to see when Lion was released, and it was only yesterday I spotted Apples page had changed to say it was available (I admit I didn't check their page every day). I had even signed up to Apple to be emailed when it was available to buy, and I never got the email either!.
A lot of us are downloading it, installing it and finding things that need changing, Agile are listening to all our criticisms and working flat out to take together all our suggestions and requests and putting in as much as they can based on the highest number of people voting or saying 'bring back this feature'
I would like to point out - I dont work for Agile or any of the company at all, but I do say , give them a chance and be patient <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Maybe we need a separate thread from Agile, noting which items have been raised by customers and they are currently working on.

I always used the menu bar drop down menu which is now totally gone. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
The new interface is a total disaster taking up a huge amount of space and with multiple logins for many sites almost impossible to use.
Without supporting HTTP auth popups iPassword is now useless in about 80% of my logins.
I thought that by holding off upgrading to Lion I would be avoiding interruptions in my workflow until everything was sorted out but had now idea that the Safari upgrade under Snow Leopard would be such a disaster with 1Password. I'm just really glad that I didn't update Safari/1Password on my production machine.Flag 0 -
Just tried to log into my bank. It came up user not found. I hate this , this is not just change, it's bad change. Go back to the right click method in Safari. I hate Firefox, but it is the only way I can do business. I am relatively new to 1P but I have come to depend on it. The new way is foreign to me and I really don't need to spend a few hours learning about a redesign that was supposed to save me time.
Just tried my bank from the drop down menu to go directly there, I see it entered my user name in the Zip Code bar for finding ATM's.Flag 0 -
I haven't used the program enough to confirm the deficiencies listed in all the posts previous to mine. Just having to key in the master password in Safari—after having navigated to the website in question from 1Password—doesn't make much sense.
The 1Password team seems to have some corrective work ahead. Looking forward to a positive modification.Flag 0 -
Really? Is this a joke? It is not April 1 yet. This new extension is AWFUL! I loved the old method because it was sleek, low profile, and fast. Very Mac-like. Was there a mutiny in your development shop? Did the Windows programmers take over? It looks that way because now the Safari extension is slow, bloated, requires extra clicks, covers up my screen, and is overall very Windows-like. I doubt that I would have purchased 1Password in the first place if this were the interface I saw initially. Please quick trying so hard and just put it back the way it was.Flag 0

Welcome to the forums, folks! There has been lots of previous discussion on this if you are interested, but I will try to sum up everything in this thread as well.
The new Safari 5.1 extension is indeed a departure from the previous experience, and there are still some known issues we are still working to resolve. Thanks for your patience with this beta software. That said, there is a whole lot of awesome in the new extension as well.
Most/all of your concerns are addressed in the aforelinked User Guide, but I will attempt to address them here as well.
Pelted, the "flourish" of the unlock animation really isn't slowing anything down. The PBKDF2 key strengthening that 1Password uses means that it really does take more than an imperceptible amount of time unlock. We are beefing up the PBKDF2 iterations. There is a noticeable delay. The animation helps show that something is happening rather than just sitting there doing nothing until the unlock is complete. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
You can also use the extension entirely with the keyboard, so there is no need to be slowed down by "excessive mouse movements." <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
As always, if you are having trouble filling any URL, please send it along. With trillions of websites out there that are all coded differently, it is very difficult to get 1Password to fill in data on all of them perfectly. With that said, we're excited to tackle this very difficult problem, and form filling is something that we are constantly working to improve. There are some sites we just don't know about because we don't use them ourselves. Your help in alerting us to them is much appreciated! We can't fix the problem unless we have the URL, though, so please do send them along. You can post them here in the forums, send me a PM, or email us at support@agilebits.com. Please try manually resaving the login first, though. That will allow 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the Login.
There is a known issue with Safari's AutoFill, but if you already have Safari's AutoFill for user names and password disabled it sounds like you might be experiencing a different issue. If you can help us track the issue down by sharing the steps I can take to reproduce the issue, that would help is improve the Safari 5.1 beta extension before its actual release. Thanks for your help with this!
I should also add that support for the "Avoid Autosave on These Domains" list is also coming which may help on sites which are coded in such a way as to keep triggering an autosave. We are working to bring the feature to the Safari 5.1 extension as well as improve the autosave detection.
David, I hope you don't mind that I merged your post with this existing thread. I just wanted to "get everyone together" before I typed up a reply. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
At this time there is not a way to launch 1Password.app from the Safari 5.1 extension, but this is something we will take under advisement. A "Copy" button in the extension is something we are also considering.
To invoke Go & Fill (aka the "All Logins" tab), simply use the Go & Fill keyboard shortcut. The default is ⌥⌘\ but it can be changed in 1Password's preferences. This way you can go directly to the "All Logins" tab without hassle. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_bigsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-D' />
I don't know that the Safari extension API will allow us to have the same functionality as the previous autosave bar, but I will definitely suggest this to the developers along with the rest of your "enhancement requests."
It sounds like you are enjoying the URL matching scheme in Safari 5.1 much more than in the previous extension. Thanks for the positive feedback on that! I will also pass that along to the developers.
Mike, automatic unlock is on the way, but I don't have a time frame.
drgoodtymes, Apple has removed Scripting Additions in Lion. Scripting Additions were the technology 1Password previously used to integrate itself with Safari and other WebKit-based browsers. There is no way to have the previous extension work in Safari any more. It is literally not possible.
We are planning on bringing the contextual menu to the new extension, however.
Thank you so very much for these kind words! I hope all the others chiming in with agreement are also agreeing with this part. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
We really do listen and value the feedback from all our users. That you all took the time to post here shows to me that you share our passion for 1Password. We couldn't do it without you, and we won't let you down. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
All the best,
Flag 0 -
Hi:
Nothing much to add except that 1Password doesn't supply my logon and password to the sites it used to before installing Lion. Instead it calls up the sites and then just sits there requiring me to enter logon and password manually. I can do that by bookmarking the page via my browser. So, 1Password doesn't work like it did any longer.
I have tried using Safari, Crome, and Firefox after following the steps outlined in this forum (i.e., installing the most recent versions and their extensions) but none work.
1Password has become an application where I can store my User names, passwords, and url's, but not much more.
Please let me know when you fix it.
Thanks,
teddFlag 0 -
PLEASE bring back the old interface. I cannot stand the new floating dialog box!
I have for years been a huge supporter of 1Password. I depend on it many times each day. But, if you to continue with the new interface, I will be looking for something else.
I can't imagine who thought up these changes when the old way worked so well. I want to be able to type cmd \ and have 1Password fill in, submit and login as it used to do.
For now, I've completely restored my Mac to Snow Leopard. Hope you guys will fix this!Flag 0 -

I also was shocked by the new extension. I guess it is the same extension as in Chrome but I stopped using Chrome in part because of that. It seemed to me that the Safari extension was better at selecting the number of passwords for a site and it would prioritize one of these logons (perhaps the last one used). I have a huge number of google accounts in particular and this new interface requires me to scroll through the list to find the one I want to use. Very frustrating.Flag 0 -
well nearly everything is said - I did not read the whole thread. But my impression is, that most of the feedback is bad.
And I am sorry, I feel the same.
1password was soooo useful, easy to use, I did not even recognize it anymore. Now I cannot login into most of the sites, the context menu is missing, etc etc. ...
I do not think updating it like this was a good idea...
I am really curious how you are going to communicate this update furtherone to your user community.:
"Our goals were simple, as we wanted to make it easier for you to: access and view more of your 1Password information than ever before right in the browser, fill and browse all your items more quickly"
Are we talking about the same extension?Flag 0 -
What a disaster. Just inadvertently upgraded to the latest Safari 1Password extension with the recent Safari 5.1 upgrade. 1Password has been a big efficiency improvement for us over the last year. Now most of this has been lost due to someone's idea to 'pretty up' the interface which has ended up removing most of the useful functionality of the old interface.
For example:
The new panel doesn't even come up on pages unless there's a login for the page
I had all my phpMyAdmin logins grouped so I could login to one of 50 sites from the dropdown menu - it's gone.
What were you thinking of. Do you not have someone there who knows how users use your system?
The drop-down menu was the best part of the system.
Please restore it.Flag 0 -
By the Way, this is not now only a Lion issue, it is an issue with Safari 5.1 which has just arrived to Snow LeopardFlag 0

Same here and to make it even worse most of my PhpMyAdmins are also protected by HTTP auth popups before I can even get to the PhpMyAdmin login.Flag 0 -
I agree with most of the previous posts. My specific requests and feedback are
1. Cannot open 1P from the login extension window
2. Many logins do not work anymore. I had to disable auto-login
3. I liked the contextual window and feel the new extension to be a distraction which is slow to appear and respond.
I honestly wish you could revert to the old methods.Flag 0 -
I have also removed Safari 5.1 and reverted to 5.0.5 running on OS X 10.6.8.
Having seen the problems that various friends are experiencing with 5.1 (unable to access their usual sites) I'm really glad that I've delayed installing Lion.
By the way, has anyone tried running 5.0.5 on Lion? I get the impression that it won't work but I can't find any confirmation of this. I believe the best solution right now (if possible) would be to use Lion & Safari 5.0.5 & 1Password 3.6.1. I live in hope!
Any thoughts?Flag 0 -
I hate to say it, but I am not sure I trust 1P in Safari anymore.
The erratic behavior of the Safari extension is really, really bad.
I know it is beta, but the now it works, now it doesn't is frustrating and, given the nature of the information stored in it, very frightening.
If the interface doesn't work, is the rest of it any better?
I am removing the extension and will just have to put up with copy and paste until you fix this.
This is uncharacteristically poor performance from you Agile.Flag 0 -
I had to register just to complain.
This 1Password has been awesome until now. I have lion and 1Password no longer works with the newest release.
When it asks me to unlock it in Safari I can type my password then I hit return and nothing happens!
Seriously, what happened to how it used to work? Did someone think a popup window would be better?
It sucks now. Whoever made the decision to change how it works, needs to get their head out of their ass and change it NOW.
This was a tool I depended on all the time. Now it's simply junk and has ruined my once great program called 1Password.
Someone needs to be fired over this. Who is in charge of developing this program? That person needs to come on here an apologize to everyone
for TOTAL COMPLETE FAILURE!!!!
ETA: I suggested this app to many of my clients who are now calling me saying it no longer works and it sucks and asking me to fix it. WTF?Flag 0 -
Dear developers of 1Password, please listen to us. Your users that keep you alive in business. The respond to the new extension is massive negative. All your exxplanations about keyboard short cuts and so on doesn't make sense. 1Password as a piece of software is excellent, but the development of the new Safari extension is a great miss. Myself have not been in need for more major features included in the extension. It worked perfectly as a REAL SHORTCUT. The new extension isn't a shortcut, but a feature that mess all up. Please reset and come to sense. Greetings from NorwayFlag 0
