I am using Safari 5.1 and 1Password 3.6.5 on a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6.8

Since updating and installing the new 1Password extension I have had problems with Safari preferences. The extension tab in Safari Preferences produces a blank page with nothing on it. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension but there is still no information on the page in safari>preferences>extension menu. Can you assist with this problem please. Other than that 1Password appears to be working ok.
Hello SeaGull,

When encountering a blank Extensions tab in Safari, there are two usual suspects:

    1. Extensions are not turned "On"

    2. The Safari .plist file is damaged.

From reviewing your screen shot, it appears that #2 is the culprit.

To fix this issue, please do the following:

    - Go to ~/Library/Safari/Extensions

    - Nuke Extensions.plist

    - Restart Safari

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers!

Do you know also when the folder icon will be restored in future releases (out of interest?) <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> - in the mean time I will keep testing <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Hi Guys… I am sure you everyone at Agile is working very hard to get the new 1Password Safari plugin up to scratch and I for one appreciate your efforts. Would have been nice to have it ready for the Lion release but I can appreciate the mamoth task it must be starting your code from scratch without the full support of your user community. Hopefully ou guys can get some of the main bugs sorted ASAP.

Have issues with my bank also with the new Safari plugin. The URL is https://www.anz.com/inetbank/bankmain.asp

The page will load from the plugin but will not autofill. Use this everyday via 1Password and would be good to get this sorted.

I can live with the frustration for a little while but appreciate that without directly useful bug error feedback, these issues won't get fixed in a hurry.
  • Hey smamu,

Thanks for the kind words and for understanding. We've been trying our best to work with the cards we were dealt, but that doesn't ease the frustration of not being able to use a program in the way that you want.

I do appreciate the useful bug/error feedback. This is the way we find out about the millions of different sites out there and on which ones we need to look for a tweak.

Regarding anz.com, I created a test login, and I was able to save and autofill the information. My test login even auto submitted.

We have pushed out two very recent Safari extension updates, and I'm hoping that you weren't using either when you experienced your issues. Please check your extension version and make sure it is BETA-29.

Please try to autofill again, and if it still doesn't work, please edit the saved login entry and change the Submit setting to "Never" and try once more.

If you continue to have problems, I'll have to move on to another troubleshooting step. But, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Thanks again for your patience and constructive feedback.

    Cheers!

    SeaGull,

I've passed your issue along to other members of the team in hopes of finding a resolution.

Unfortunately, the issue appears to be Safari related, so I cannot promise that anyone here will have an answer.

In the interim, you may wish to search Apple's Safari Forums for similar instances.

Sorry that I could not be of more help.

    Hey vmaatta,

    Thanks for your quick reply! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I appreciate the specific example. I can tell you that many other users have requested that functionality be added back, and I know that the developers are investigating if it's possible.

Also, thanks for the Nordnet link. I just tested it on my system, and I was able to get it to work. This gives me hope!

We just released a 1Password update a few minutes ago, so please check for updates and install the newest version. The version number is 3.6.5.BETA-4 (build #31073). When you've installed it, please check Safari to ensure the 1P browser extension is our latest: 3.6.5.BETA-28

Please let us know if the update works for the Nordnet site. If it does not, please try re-saving the login first.

    Cheers!

And here’s another one. This one didn’t work even on the old plugin so it’s not that urgent. EQ Varainhoito. The username gets filled but not the password.

I tried resaving the login information on both sites but it didn’t work on either. Same behavior as with the old logins.

I don't want to fan the flames of dissatisfaction but I too am unhappy about the disappearance of single-keystroke login.

Glad to hear that Agile are working on restoring it. Roughly when may we expect to have it?

This is working for me with 1Password 3.6.5 and extension beta-29 under Snow Leopard. It's been a hell of a week, so I am not even certain exactly when this was added. Is this working for you guys okay?

On a more personal note, my Chase login now works with autosubmit (which is no longer broken on a per-item basis.) One day at a time, guys, we'll get there! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

This one is strange. I hit ⌘\ to fill it, it fills the username...and then out of frustration I hit ⌘\ AGAIN and the password filled. No autosubmit though. I am putting both of these on our hitlist!

On that note. How about adding a “report this login site as non-functional” to the Beta of the plugin. Throw a couple checkboxes there for “fills username” and “fills password”. Pick the URL and why not a text field for a short message from the user on how the login fails. Might get a bit of structured data for analysis.

My Chase fills but does not Auto Submit; I am using extension beta-29.

Are you running Lion or SL?

I'm starting to think there are more issues with Auto Submit in SL than in Lion...can you please confirm. If you can get it working with Chase and SL, please provide any steps you took.

    *edit for additional info*

So, Autosubmit does NOT work at chaseonline.chase.com but it DOES work at chase.com -- I find that odd...

Yep! Snow Leopard here, just like I said! (Haven't had time to mess around with my setup in all the excitement.) <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Please double-check to make sure you don't have autosubmit off either globally (first item under Preferences > Logins) or for your Chase Login item individually (Submit=). I have had this off as a workaround in the past myself.

And finally, make sure you have 1Password3.6.5, which was released hours ago (1Password > Check for Updates).

    Please let me know if this works! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Yeah, filling but not auto-submitting. I’ve got global autosubmit ON and individual logins are on “if Autosubmit is ON”. And I’m on Lion. Haven’t run into other sites with such issues so far.

Ah, thanks for confirming. I test so many different sites each day that I get confused sometimes. I just double-checked and I filed this correctly as fill=ok submit=broken, so we will try to get this working. Hi Brandt

Thank you for your effort to assist me with the preferences>extensions blank page problem (post above) in Safari. You were, of course, right. It was a coincidence that the problem came to light when I installed the new 1Password extension leading me to suspect it was the cause. By a process of elimination I solved it. Although it does not concern 1Password I thought you might be interested in the resolution.

It was apparently being caused by a plugin from another program. In my case 'Safariflvsniffer.bundle'. I went to Macintosh HD>library>application support>SIMBL>plugins and removed that file. The problem disappeared after rebooting Safari. I put the file back to double check and the problem returned.

Thanks again for your support. The efforts your company make to assist and support their 'clients' and your very proactive support system is, as always, outstanding.

    Thanks again

    Regards

Thanks for the update (and the kind words), SeaGull. On behalf of Brandt, you are quite welcome! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I shared this with the rest of the team so we can keep an eye on it.

I'm going to close this thread now since it has reached an unwieldy [s]13[/s] 14 pages...! We want to make sure that everyone's issue is addressed, so please start a new thread for your issue. I don't like the idea that something could slip between the cracks in a thread this large. It is just too much to keep up with (even working around the clock as we are).

We love your feedback, and we love you. You all deserve special attention, and we have a better shot at providing that if you post in a thread which deals with the specific issue you are having (or start a new one if no such thread exists). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
